And all of you guys that are blaming Obama for not stopping this, why? This isn't your typical jihadi. Tougher to see this types coming, in my opinion. This kid has been in the US for 20 years. He's well educated and comes from a middle class family.

How could this shooting been prevented. Well, how about allowing those who got shot to have been allowed to carry a gun instead of exposing themselves to any and everyone in a gun free zone. Obama supports the gun free zones yet any where he goes he is surrounded by guns. Hypocrite in chief. Do away with gun free zones, Install bullet proof glass in recruiting offices etc and allow those in uniform to at least have access to weapons so they can defend themselves. Yes I blame Obama because he has the power to do what needs to be done. He still has not commented on Kate's death in SF much less tried to console her parents. I blame him because he is not a leader and he exposes all Americans to what happened to Kate and to the four who were shot yesterday. Education does not mean someone will not turn radical, hello. And after Ft Hood, the Naval Yard, and yesterday I think you have to admit that Jihad is here. Political correctness is bringing this country down and Obama is at the top of the heap in that category.

As they try to determine a possible motive, U.S. officials revealed Friday that the 24-year-old man suspected of killing four Marines in Chattanooga gunman Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez traveled to Jordan last year, according to multiple reports.

The news comes as newly-uncovered court documents allege that the suspected shooter came from an abusive home, according to the Chattanooga Times Free Press.

Abdulazeez's mother alleged in divorce papers she filed and then retracted in 2009 that that her husband beat and sexually assaulted her regularly, including when their children were home. She also claims in the complaint that Youssef Abdulazeez hit his children, and at one point threatened to take a second wife "as permitted under certain circumstances under Islamic law."

The new information comes after a pair of chilling blog posts surfaced in which the suspected shooter writes about jihad and his interpretation of Islam.

According to the Daily Beast, Abdulazeez wrote the posts three days before he allegedly fired a barrage of bullets in the twin attacks, killing four Marines and wounding two other military personnel and one police officer.

One post includes his apparent take on "The Story of the Three Blind Men" and understanding of Islam.

"Every one of them fought Jihad for the sake of Allah," the post reads, later adding, "We ask Allah to make us follow their path."

I don't even know where to start with this, but I'll try. Bullet proof glass in recruiting offices? This is the type of thing you hold the President accountable for and expect? Gun free zones started in 1992 under President GHWB and were then modified under President Clinton. How does President Obama get the blame for that? Not being a leader and not meeting with the parents of Kate Steinle has ZERO to do with this kid carrying out his idea of Jihad. I never said education means someone would not turn into a radical. I also never said Jihad isn't here. If you're going to take on my opinions, at least read what I write and make an effort to comprehend it. I'm not Obama fan, voted for Romney, and even I am sick of arguing about this kind of garbage. Let's start dealing in facts and reality. Whether you like President Obama or not, the person responsible for these murders is Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez.

That is true Mantis, and I don't think having everyone carrying guns in this climate right now is a good idea either. Someone could drop a book on the floor and 9 guns would be drawn.

I know what you're saying, Scott. This is the type of terrorist that especially hate to see. I mean, on the surface this kid is just like an other 24 year old kid. American citizen, Middle class, college grad, degree in electrical engineering, into MMA, and even had a DUI and then one day he snaps and becomes a Jihadist killer. Hard to see that coming.

Right Mantis. The guy takes a trip to Jordan and returns radicalized. Also the Boston killers were integrated into our society. It doesn't matter that these individuals have no real reason to hate America. What we are seeing is the result of brainwashing by the inculcation of "grievance politics," perceived atrocities against Islam committed by the US.

Perception is reality. And if you can twist the minds of a few thousand Muslims (whether born here or not) to blend into our society before picking up rifles and swords we have a huge problem. Because America is an open society with individual freedoms. Terrorists embrace a closed society that opposes the rights of individuals. And if we respond to terror by imposing more restrictions upon Americans then terror gets a victory.

Agree with everything you wrote. This kid and the Tsarnev brothers weren't uneducated, oppressed, poor and hopeless. They had opportunities, they had hope for a good life.

Well let me start with this. Was ISIS around back then and declared war on the U.S. A leader is judged by the way he reacts to tragedies like this (still has not contacted Kate's family in SF). Bullet Proof Glass, if you aren't going to allow them to carry their own guns to defend themselves at least help protect them (that would be an original thought well outside of Obama's reach). Ok let's deal in facts, Obama is the ultimate person responsible for these murders.....period (lol). Why because his policies (excuse me lack of policies) do not even recognize muslim extremists. At least do that. He said we would destroy Isis and degrade them. Diid what happened in Chattanooga degrade ISIS or what. Anyone who cannot connect what happened there to ISIS just doesn't get it (not you, I think you get it) but ISIS is degrading us and Obama not visa versa. Political correctness is bringing this country down and the whole world is watching. Just because gun free zones were there before Obama came along does not mean that he can't do away with them...right. That is a fact. When you become POTUS you accept a lot of responsibilities and you must take actions that are in the best interests of the country not simply pushing an agenda.

Not talking about "everyone" carrying guns. You have to connect the dots, Ft Hood....Navy Ship Yard....Chattanooga....NEXT. I do not what the NEXT one. Mantis laughed at bullet proof glass. That is a basic defensive move, in fact a common sense move. But our military are well qualified to handle arms and they deserve a defense against what happened in Tenn. You might as well tell them to wear T-shirts with targets on their backs. It is now well publicized that gun free zones exist and we have even exposed where and what they are. Is that an invitation for more of what just happened? Allow our military to defend themselves, they have done the same for us and for others. Is that really asking too much. There has never been a climate better suited for allowing them to do so. You have to learn from your mistakes and we just allowed 5 of our military to pay the ultimate price. They followed orders and they died.

Not yet. Williamsburg right now but thanks for the well wishes.

Im curious as to why you save the lectures for me though. Gasman saying Obama has blood on his hands and these nitwits agreeing with him should have you pointing and waving a finger.

So you are saying that Obama is not responsible for this senseless killing...you are blaming Bush?

-In 1993, AQ bombed the World Trade Center

-Khalid Sheikh Mohammed first presented the idea for the September 11 plot to Bin Laden in 1996 in Afghanistan

-On June 25, 1996, Khobar Towers, home of 2,000 U.S. military personnel assigned to the King Abdul Aziz Air Base in Saudi Arabia, was bombed killing 19 US service members.

-In August 1996, Bin Laden declared war on the United States

-In 1998, AQ bombed the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania killing 224 people

-On December 4[SUP]th[/SUP] 1998, President Clinton received a PDB stating Bin Laden is determined to strike the United States. It was "the most important PDB about hijacking published before 9/11”

-In late 1998 or early 1999, bin Laden summoned Khalid Sheikh Mohammed to Kandahar and gave approval for Mohammed to go forward with the 9/11 plot.

-In October 2000, the USS Cole was attacked by suicide bombers, while in port in Aden, Yemen, for refueling, killing 17 U.S. sailors.

None of which of course have any remote connection to President Bush.

Not only that, but in 2010 and 2011 Obama and Biden were bragging how good things were in Iraq ("I think everybody gets credit" and Iraq is "stable, self reliant" an "extraordinary achievement")

You are the dumbest person here. Your posts are nothing more than a cartoonishly ignorant little boy shouting.

According to Vit, these are all GW Bush's fault for invading Iraq. Have you ever met or interacted with a more foolish left wing democratic operative stool pigeon in your life? I mean, Obama could shit on the American flag and these jerk offs would have an excuse for his actions, or place blame on something completely irrelevant.

Good grief.

LANCE CPL SKIP WELLS
Reservist on active duty operational support
Entered service: February 2014
From: Cobb, Georgia
Occupation: Field artillery cannoneer
Lance Cpl Skip Wells had wanted to be a Marine ever since he was a little boy, his girlfriend Caroline Dove told CNN in an eloquent interview on Friday.
Dove, who had been dating Wells for the past two and a half years, met her boyfriend while they were both studying history at Georgia State University.
'We were both history majors and there was a connection just right off the bat. He knew what he had to do to make me happy and I knew what I had to do to make him happy and we were just compatible,' she said. 'It was great that we worked out for as long as we did.'
Since joining the military, Dove and Wells had been long-distance while Wells worked in Tennessee and Dove continued her education in Georgia.
She says the last time she saw her boyfriend was in February and that she had plans to visit him next week - a dream reunion that will now never happen.
Dove says that her boyfriend was proud to serve his country, and that his one ambition in life was to be remembered for service.
'I know when we first met, he said, "You know, I'm going to be a Marine. That's all I really want to do, that's all I know and that's all I love."' Dove recalled.
Done says Wells spent a lot of time speaking with recruiters about the process of joining the Marines before he was officially sworn in last year - realizing his dream career.
Wells officially became a Marine on May 9, 2014, when he graduated from boot camp.
He beams proudly in pictures from the day on Facebook, embracing his girlfriend in one picture and beaming proudly next to his parents and mother (who also served in the Marines, according to friends) in another.
Dove is also an enlisted Marine, just weeks away from boot camp.
While the shooting has no doube been shaking, Dove says it has only strengthened her resolve to join the military.
'Seeing as this has happened on our soil it has encouraged me to want this even more and I actually want to live out my life as a Marine and be able to do it for him because I know that's what he wanted me to do.
'He as truly honest, he was smart, he was loyal - just anything you could imagine in a good guy and a good Marine.
'I'm gonna miss his funny little quirks...he always knew how to make me laugh, how to make me smile, how to make me feel better about anything,' Dove said.
Garrett Reed, a longtime friend of Wells who has known him since the fourth grade, believes he wanted to join the military because of his family's legacy of service.
'He loves his country, his momma served in the military...I think he just wanted to follow in her footsteps,' Reed said.
According to pictures posted to Facebook, he had recently returned from a trip to DisneyWorld with his mother.
Reed said he was shocked when he learned that his childhood friend had been killed in the terror attack on Thursday
'You hear about this kind of stuff on the news all the time and you just never think it can happen to one of your friends,' Reed said.
In describing Wells' personality, Reed said: 'He was just a funny guy, real caring. Just a really nice guy, you just couldn't find a nicer guy than him.'

Staff Sgt David Wyatt lived with his wife and two kids in Hixson, Tennessee - the same Chattanooga suburb where Abdulazeez grew up with his family.
As FBI agents swarmed the gunman's home on Thursday, mourners began to arrive at Wyatt's home just six miles down the road.
'There were seven or eight cars there last night. I thought they were having a party. It didn't go through my mind,' neighbor Antony Madakcherry told the Tennessean.
Wyatt, originally from Russellville, Arkansas attended university in Montana before joining the military.
He married his wife Lorri in December 2004, and the couple went on to have two children - a boy and a girl according to photos posted on Mrs Wyatt's Facebook.
As friends and family wrote their condolences on Facebook Thursday night, Lorri responded and thanked everyone for their support, writing that her husband had been 'an amazing father'.
On Friday, a Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy was stationed outside of the family's home.

GUNNERY SGT THOMAS J SULLIVAN

Active duty
From: Hampden, Massachusetts
Entered service: September 1997
Occupation: Field artillery cannoneer
Deployments: Iraq (September 2007 to April 2008, September 2004 to April 2005)
Sullivan, from Springfield, Massachusetts served two tours of duty in Iraq, survived the battle of Abu Ghraib and was awarded the Purple Heart, his family told MassLive.
Sullivan's brother Joe is a pub owner in their hometown, and wrote a post on the bar's website in honor of his fallen sibling after hearing the terrible news.
'He was our hero and he will never be forgotten. Please keep his family & friends in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you Tommy for protecting us,' the post reads.
As the family mourns Sullivan's passing, his brother has asked residents in their community to lower their American flags to half mast.
'There’s no Marine you would want that was better in combat than him,' Sullivan's friend, Josh Parnell, told Patch. 'He’d been shot at so many times over the years and then for this to happen at home in the United States.'
A woman claiming to be a friend of Sullivan's on Twitter shared a picture of the sergeant in his uniform next to two Purple Hearts, writing: 'RIP GySgt Thomas Sullivan, it was an honor knowing you and knowing you're the reason why my mom would smile.'
Sullivan was one of three children to Jerry and Betty Sullivan and graduated from Springfield's Cathedral High School before joining the military.

SGT CARSON HOLMQUIST
Active duty
From: Polk, Wisconsin.
Entered service: January 2009
Occupation: Automotive maintenance technician
Deployments: Afghanistan (September 2013 to May 2014)
Sgt Carson Holmquist, a man who just returned from a nearly year-long deployment last July, was another of the four men tragically killed in Thursday's shooting.
The 27-year-old originally from Grantsburg, Wisconsin leaves behind a wife, Jasmine, and a 2-year-old son Wyatt.
At the time of his untimely death, Holmquist and his young family were living in Jacksonville, North Carolina where he was stationed at Camp Lejeune.
While his family has yet to issue a statement on his death, it is very clear that he was loved.
Pictured posted to Facebook show his wife and toddler son with broad smiles, welcoming him home from a deployment last July.
In the photos, mother and son wave American flags and hold up posters reading 'Welcome home Daddy!' and 'We've waited 244 days for this moment'.
Friends also paid tribute to the fallen Marine on Facebook, posting kind words like 'You will be missed bud'.

Sgt Holmquist returned from a 244-day deployment with the Marines last year, according to this photo posted to Facebook of his wife and son welcoming him home

In the aftermath of the shooting, it was revealed that Abdulazeez was a naturalized U.S. citizen, born in Kuwait, who moved to America with his family in 1996. His father was reportedly born in the Palestinian territories, and had a violent past according to court documents exclusively obtained by DailyMail.com.
In 2009 Abdulazeez's mother filed for divorce from his father accusing him of shocking attacks on her and the children.
Youssuf Saed Abdulazeez was accused of physically attacking his wife of 28 years and sexually assaulting her in front of the children. He also wanted to take a second wife claiming it was permitted under Islamic law.
The couple ultimately reconciled and stayed together, but the allegations and court hearings would have no doubt put pressure on the family and their only son who was in his senior year at high school at the time.
The gunman's father was also put on a terror watch list in the past, but ultimately cleared.
The investigation allegedly had to do with the father's contributions to a charity and questions about whether the money was being funneled to fund terrorism.
