Now that Ghanna has won....

How does everyone feel about Italy/US? There's now 3 teams with 3 points in this group. Currently lines on Italy are going down. I don't know why the line on Italy ML keeps going down. I'm liking Italy even more right now b/c they know they can clinch it with a win over the US. I just cannot see US winning this game. Worst case scenario for Italy is a draw at this moment. I'm taking Italy.

$2230 to win $1000.

Here's more on what I'm thinking. Now this group's standing is: Italy 3pts, US 0pts, Ghanna 3pts, Czech 3pts. Like I said, the chances of US beating Italy is very slim to none. This is a must win game for both teams. If the game ends in a draw, that'll give Italy 4pts, US 1, Ghanna 3, Czech 3. Italy will then have to face the Czechs and if they lose that match and Ghanna beats the US in their next match (which I believe has >50% chance of being so), then Italy is out of the tourney with Czech and Ghanna advancing to the next round. Thus, Italy MUST WIN this match against USA now. If anything, the juice on the Italy ML should go up, not down. Just dont' understand why it's going down. Could it be American public that's taking the US now that they think they have a chance of advancing since Ghanna won? :toast:

Yes, I admit it IS a heavy play for me. But the US is STILL getting too much hype here in the states and I'm taking my stand that Italy wins. I'm thinking it's the American public that's bringing the Italy ML down and not the sharps. Let's go Italy!!!

Absolutely agree Rice. I'm laughing my ass off hearing the ESPN analysts stating that the US now has a chance since Ghanna won. WTF? They can't be serious! Somehow the US can now beat Italy and then go on to beat Ghanna to advance? uppy:

I'm not saying nothing's impossible, but the chances of that happening are extremely slim.

Agree Italy should win, just hate to lay 220 plus. The US the fifth best team in thw world. Hell, they are not even the fifth best team in Group E.

I bet everyone here thought that Ghana had no chance as well. I also believe that ghana were heavier dogs as well. Let's not forget four years ago against Portugal. USA has a definite chance of winning, they know what is at stake. Italy may have more talent, but any team can beat any team on any given day.

after watching the Italy/ghana match i thought to myself........damn this ghana team is great, theyre quick and counter very nicely with essien.........they countered on czech rep all day missing lots of great opportunities........freddy adu is from ghana and will give ghana lots of inside info and they will dominate when they play the USA

Italy is a world class team........they have a top notch defense and have tons of european experience.......the US national team had to sleep on a military base after a bomb scare at their hotel.........coupled with the fact that italy is bigger and stronger they will manhandle the US..........the USA has no chance of beating italy and in my mind even less of a chance of beating ghana

Are you saying that the Czechs being the #2 ranked team in the world cup losing to a team who has never experienced a world cup in their lives had no chance of losing today? Please explain how this is any different from USA beating Italy. I would also like to know if you think the USA beating Italy would be more of an upset than Ghana over the Czechs.

wow, what an odd match this has been so far. A shit load of fouls, italy own goal which killed their momentum, the dirty ass elbow to mcbride's face.... Although I'm on Italy, I thought that last red card on Maestroeni was complete bullshit. But, back to 10 against 10 now. Italy needs to come out fearless in the second half and be more aggressive. They're playing like they don't want to lose instead of playing to win. Come on Italy!!!!
