Just remember that during their win-less bowl streak, ND was getting invited to big bowl games to SELL TICKETS, not play football. This year's game is clearly different. Being 6-6, the Irish couldn't be invited to a game where they were over matched. They match up with Hawaii well, especially upfront, so I'm taking the Irish to cover, and end the streak.

Really like ND in this spot and since there are no NBA games tommorrow I will be on ND big. ND is better position for position and while Hawaii has the home field advantage and is am inproving team, there is 1 key here, Weiss knows all eyes are on him and his ass is on the line. IF he losses here then he heads into next season a dean man walking, a win here and he cools the stove for a minute until he fucks up again next season. HE will have his team ready and it's a huge building block opportunity for NOtre Dame as they are a young team. Notre Dame wins by 9+.

Got some news that hawaii is super fired up. Some nd lineman was talking trash about the hawaii o-line and the nd team were chanting "rainbows" then the whole hawaii team did the ha'a. If hawaii can protect alexander, hawaii has some good recievers and can win it. I might play hawaii small just to have something on the game.

Charlie Weis will have his team ready to play the Irish is the pick here by 10
Irish 27 Hawaii 17

Just like he did against Syracuse and San Diego State. They were a fumble at the inch line away from losing to that god-awful team.

Combined record of the teams Irish defeated:

Stanford
Navy
Washington
Michigan
SDSU
Purdue

22-50 very impressive

Seen some talk in this thread that ND is the better team in this game.

For debating purposes, let's say that's true.
Uhhhh, better team doesn't always win = see Gonzanga just last night or Xavier. Or the Jets and Eagles last Sunday.

Does anyone know if this game is sold out??

tickets are still for sale online
just to see what was left for sale I put in a request for 2 and it came back at midfield in the 28th row
I also put in a request for 8 and it came back around the 20 yard line 13th row
seems like a lot of unsold tickets

The biggest question is who and what conference will the refs be from? If it is those bootlegged hawaii refs during the season that is worth at least a td and a few Nd holding and PI penalties...Anyone know?

Why does anyone think the fat man might lose his job if ND loses? Didn't they already say he's coming back? Hasn't his ASS been on the line the whole damn year? What difference does this game make? NONE.
Hawaii is at home, and an improving team. ND hasn't beaten anybody, has played like garbage and lost to inferior squads, barely beaten the likes of San Diego St, and now.... they have superior talent? Really?

I'll take the Rainbows and the points. ND doesn't wanna be here, and they're probably taking in the sights of the island like everyone else does when they go to Hawaii.

Fair to presume that at least 80% of those 44,000 will be Hawaii fans?
Hawaii is/should be happy to be playing in a bowl game and at home to boot. Wtf is ND doing in a bowl game anyways = I'll take the 2 points.

I'd say 95% are hawaii fans.

And if you ever played football all the Bu**sh*t about whos gonna be more fired means NOTHING at all maybe 2-3 plays then it just football and execution again.

True, but the "fired up" thing has an enormous affect on the week of preparation. Everyone gets jacked up before kickoff, but games are won and lost monday-friday. Any coach will tell you that. Not saying either team prepared more or less but that's a coach's perspective on this issue.

As for the game, I think Hawaii has every bit as much speed as ND, maybe more. Charlie Weiss can do everything in his power to "save his job" but sometimes it's about the "jimmy's and joe's" more than the "x's and o's". Hawaii's guys get it done with speed and an agressive defense. 28-14 Hawaii. GL to all

Also remember reading in this forum from years past that the Hawaii fans are just plain brutal on the opposing fans, regardless where there from.
Sort of like how Oak Raider fans react to oppossing fans = not nice.

In New Orleans, Hawaii fans were more passive than Barney the dinosaur. This includes the night before, pre game, and definitely post game. Anyways, I would go very small on ND. Just a feeling.
