Well, at least I put my money where my mouth is. If this clicks Mr. Smith, I got a large Christmas finder's fee for you. Do not need, div odds, as if it happens, futures will gain enough value, slighlty redundant for me, but if you have no futures, one to look at. Still, with 3 way dogfight for American west, Yankees could easily snag wild card...Best Wishes...OFWagers(s) Accepted

Ticket No.: 15628655
PROPOSITION
2004 AL WILD CARD [209] NEW YORK YANKEES +4000

Risking $300.00 to win $12,000.00
TOTAL: RISKING $300.00 TO WIN $12,000.00

Mr. Smith...I never forget who helps me.

Rob F. You know me, if I smell value, I attack. These futures and props are not entertainment for me.

I've been trying to say that there is no easy games on Yankees schedule if they are playing good hitting teams, case inpoint the Tribe and Orioles later in week. this team could miss playoffs

Like I said, when your starting pitching goes south, it has a ripple effect on the bullpen. They just got trashed today, but they were bound to run out of gas after saying starters last few weeks. I think they will make the playoffs. As a 40-1 wild card. Or at least I bet that now. Still 30-1 last check. Last year in playoffs they started using starters as pen. Now starters have killed pen. Torre tried 6 man rotation, another sign of desperaration. But Loaiza is a ragarm, and now he gets mop up in blowouts. Back to 5 inconsistent arms. But good news Yankees, Giambi is back in clubhouse. What a motivator he is. There are a lot of hard hitting teams left on the Yankees schd. Many with a grudge against them. And all of them are taking notes. Who is motivated? The opponents who can payback highest payroll squad, or highest payroll squad that is doing a major tailspin. YankeesBoSox have two series left against each other. Home/away. Those games will be huge. Maybe that ARod brawl motivated the BoSox. That and removing malcontent Nomar. The Bosox are flying as sky high as the Yankees are tailspinning. Like I asked, when do they pass each other? Best Wishes...OF

Mr. Smith and OF

I am on it now as well, Thanks for the heads up! This is incredible value, even at 30:1, IMO. If the Yanks lose the AL east, they should be right in the thick of the wild card race with the Angels. Texas is done, put a fork in them. I also have futures plays on the Yanks and Angels to win the WS and AL Penant, so there is still some hedge for me as well.

The neat thing about this wager is it is super-hegible. For example, I think the Yanks will bounce back big time tomorrow, so I took them with confidence knowing that if I lose that one, that loss makes this big payoff more feasible

Yankees now 5-1 wild card, WWTS not in good shape there. Bosox 2-1 division. Sure like 40-1 more than 5-1. Thanks again Mr. Smith. As fart as hedging, maybe, but that is way off for me. Yankees bouncing back, that owuld seem to be the common or what everybody else thinks. Losing 5 straight at home, they will have to reverse form in a hurry. Should be fun to watch...Best Wishes...OF

Where have you guys been the last 50 years?

Happens every year, yanks go on a bit of a slide and red sox fans say "this is our year".

Yanks will find a way to break their hearts again and get to the world series.

Sancho, maybe this year is different, maybe not. One thing I know for sure, the Yankees do not lose every year 22-0 at home, as a 2-1 fave. Another no brainer, 40-1 is value for Yanx wild card. Maybe every 4 years the US NBA olympic squad wins the Gold. Maybe either the Lakers/Spurs win NBA title every year. History has little bearing on what have you done for me lately. If the Yankees find a way, I will be surprised. I am betting they don't. Best Wishes...OF

yankees lose plenty. people have selective memory.

if you think yankees " Always find a way" or "they have ghosts"

then where was the way and where were the ghosts when Arizona got a come from behind victory in the world series in the 9th inning against Riviera?

The Marlins beat the Yankees last year in yankee stadium to win the world series?

The red sox time to beat the yankees will come.... maybe now....maybe not... but when it happens there will be a lot of people who lose a lot of money due to their all forgiving faith in the past.

the power of this forum is incredible. . .remember a few months back when tampa pulled to .500? when we had a thread on drays and a few of us said yeah sure why not get some 10,000-1 WS. sure enough, in next 48 hours down to 2,000-1 or worse in 3 or 4 places we discussed.

Todays results could not have been better for us, IMO. All 3 non-AL East wild card contenders lost, Texas, Ana, Oak while the AL east contenders (Yanks and Bost) won. Bost has opened a 3.5 game lead on the wildcard race. That means the big payday is more dependent on just one single event, Bost overtaking the Yanks in the AL East. The more results like today happen, this late in the season, the easier it will be to lock in profit (ie hedge) against the possibility of that one single event not occuring (eg take Yanks in the two upcoming 3 game series against the Sox).

Hey Pancho, let them dream it's all they've had for almost 100 years, it's just a fantasy.

I would rather be a dreamer with a live 40-1 shot then on the sidelines laughing at people that are dreaming...Best Wishes...OF

I would not count the Yanks out ! Indians are not really a part of their easy schedule as the Indians can get very hot as can Baltimore. However after that, Yanks have 4 games at home with TB, 3 left with KC, and 6 games with Toronto.Boston has 6 games with TB and 4 with Seattle. The 6 games between Yanks and Red Sox left might be very interesting but I still expect the Yanks to have the lead when their head to head starts on Sept 17.

You are probably right Kermit. I am not a believer of the rest of thier staff, besides Hernandez. But those head to head should decide it. Looking forward to them...Best Wishes...OF
