This is a tough situational spot for the Angels, playing yesterday on the East Coast at Yankee stadium, flying 3,000 miles and having to play tonight. And this underachieving group has had all kinds of problems, worst in baseball in fielding and struggling on the mound. Starter Jerome Williams (5-8, 4.85 ERA) is no ace and is 1-3 against Houston. The Angels are 6-14 in their last 20 games vs. a team with a winning percentage below .400 and 2-10 in Williams' last 12 home starts. And the Astros are 4-0 in the last 4 meetings in Los Angeles. Bonus Play from Doc’s Sports. #18/#418 Take UNDER in Dallas Cowboys @ Arizona Cardinals (Saturday 4:30 pm) The books got burned in Week 1 with gamblers playing overs, and thus they have readjusted their normal preseason lines and gotten away from totals posted in the low 30s. The lines are much closer to reality, but I believe this game features high value with the under. Arizona needs to win games by playing defense, and they have one of the best defensive players in the league in Patrick Patterson. They shut out Green Bay in Week 1, and expect a strong performance again in Week 2. Dallas has looked strong in the first halves of both games, and expect their starters to play a little longer in this game since it is Week 2. I am not a fan of Carson Palmer and feel he keeps getting chances despite very little production. We just hope turnovers and special teams do not play a major role in this game. Play the under with this inflated total. Do not miss Doc’s Sports weekend football card featuring strong selections from the National Football League. We showed a profit in Week 1 and expect more of the same in Week 2.

Giants over Indianapolis (7 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 18) Sunday night we get treated to a great NFL Preseason matchup as last year's surprise team, the Indianapolis Colts, visit the New York Giants. Preseason Week 1 was a rough one for the Colts as everything went wrong quickly. The Colts defense on Sunday looked really bad, giving up 44 points to the Buffalo Bills at home. Buffalo's offense and special teams were outstanding against the Colts, and if the Colts don't fix this problem I see the Giants doing the same thing Sunday night. The Giants defense played really well against Pittsburgh last Saturday, and I see the G-Men's "D" playing lights out at home. Defense will be the key to this victory, and if the Giants can stop the Colts offense in the first half then I see the Giants holding on to a low-scoring victory. Take the small home favorite in this preseason game as the hometown Giants stay perfect in August.
