I still like all the leagues...
Sports and politics are 2 different subjects to me...
When the leagues come back around to playing games I will continue to watch the games...On mute of course...
These pro athletes and games are for entertainment...They are performers and their views/opinions of the world will not change mine one bit...
Not really a big deal at all either way...
I will say I was shocked they canceled...did not see them doing that...Not exactly the view you had on the NHL yesterday. But enjoy the games when they return.
But they will sit a day or 2 and then back to business as usual...
Sorta like when the NBA went to China and then attempted to speak up on human rights issues and got told to shut the fuck up and the did...That tells you all you need know about their heart and motives...
All this rah rah rah social justice speech from millionaire athletes doing nothing to help the actual problems they speak up about is cute and laughable...
NFL seems like the biggest platform, who knows what and when they will cancel. Seems like this is only gonna piss people off, is it really gonna demand change
This is how I've always felt, however w/ the trajectory we are on, it is easy to see a time where this stuff is just going to be shoved down people's throats in a way that is so untenable that you really have no choice but to turn the TV off.
I wonder what happens when the GOP side starts losing elections again (which is inevitable) and this stuff is still going on. Well, then you have a direct result of the protests/dialogue they created influencing election outcomes (how much would it influence it? who knows)
Once people see front and center that that activism produced tangible political results that they don't like, then there may be a tsunami of people turning the TV off. Right now it is kinda like meh because for all the noise, Trump is still in charge.
