Ahh, they answered it at intermission. Interesting. Same ridiculous logic in the NBA where you have to call a foul flagrant in order to review it.

missed the explanation but my understanding if the ref calls interference the play is dead doesn't matter if the puck crosses the line

The refs didn't call the play dead during the play. What they did was huddled up at the scoring table and made the decision that the goalie was interfered with before making the call to Toronto. They just didn't tell any coaches or anyone that is what they did, because during the play they didn't make that call. It was confusing for everyone.

I just don't see the Kings being able to keep up with Hawks scoring. Think kings win game 2 and Hawks win in 6

they can also call it dead if the ref said he was going to blow the whistle and actually didn't its very confusing haha

The problem was none of that happened this play. There was no call, or whistle while the goal was scored. They literally just huddled up and made a decision without telling anyone. That's why Quenneville was so irate and the announcers had no clue what was going on.

BROSSARD, Quebec (AP) -- Montreal goaltender Carey Price's status for Game 2 of the Eastern Conference final is still unclear.

Price briefly tested his right knee Sunday before the Canadiens' optional practice. Coach Michel Therrien said the team will know more Monday before they host the
New York Rangers trailing 1-0 in the series.Price spent about five minutes on the ice with goaltending coach Stephane Waite, mostly moving side to side in the crease.
''Today was an optional practice,'' Therrien said. ''It was a therapy day for Carey. We'll see if he's able to play.''

Anyone see Ovechkin's knee injury? That looked pretty bad. I wouldn't be surprised if it was an ACL/MCL injury that puts him out for a year.
