tied after game 4 who ever wins game 5 has the advantge

i could see after game 5 if its tied but if a series is 1-1 the higher seed has game 5 and 7 i just don't get it i guess haha cause when its 1-1 they say o they got the split the stole home ice but how is that the case when 1-1 = a game 5 in the higher seeds arena I'm not trying to argue thats just my take on it
