…don’t you guys ever go to bed? Shoot if I knew you were going to pull a all nighter I might have hung out a little longer.
Savant,
You know what I want in a handicapper? Consistency. Losing 17 of 18 in three days is pure gold. (if I had known and was in a fading type of spirit)
Bro, I do feel ya. I’m counting down the days till hardball with much anticipation and I have always gotten killed with roundball. I don’t know why. It’s just like there are some casinos that I could never win at. Basketball is just not my game. Ever see “Vegas Vacation” when Chevy Chase shows up for the third time determined to beat this one particular dealer after being soundly pulverized by him the prior two meetings? The dealer looks up at him as if to say, oh no not again, and tells him, “Why don’t you just give me your money now. I’ll take you out back, kick you in the balls, and we’ll call it even.”
I have had runs like yours before, as we ALL have. You have two choices. Drastically cut down your unit sizes or turn off the TV and turn a negative into a positive. Use this weekend to familiarize yourself with everything that has taken place in spring training and fully prepare yourself for the start of MLB 2004. Some handicappers say you should never make a serious baseball bet until after Memorial Day. My belief is they only say that because they are spending too much time on the other sports to know what’s happening in one.
I think there is great opportunity in April for baseball handicapping. But you need to have some sort of foundation going into opening day. Otherwise you’re might as well give him the money, go out back, and let the guy kick you in the balls.
In regard to downloading the tracker and spreadsheet. I’m no computer whiz and when I try my system has a pop up that say’s that “windows cannot open this file and must know the program that created it”. What do I do?
Yes I do cap football. But again my time is limited. How do people keep up with the inconceivable work load of the NBA, NHL, AFL, NCAA and bet with any kind of accuracy? This is the main reason I chose one sport. To be perfectly frank I’m not looking forward to sharing what little time I have to splitting baseball with hockey playoffs. But I will.
Come football season I do the opposite of what the “experts” tell you and I focus on the NFL as opposed to the NCAA. Less teams and less work. Tougher numbers for sure but I do alright and this year I plan on putting up the five dimes and try the Hilton contest.
