A couple of big underdog covers highlight Week 8 in the NFL. Here’s a recap of which teams covered, and which teams left bettors fuming.

Bet NFL Week 9

Although they split 1-1 in Week 9, away favorites continue to be the best bet in the NFL so far, covering 60.53% of the time. Home dogs are a surprising 15-23 this season for 39.47%, while favorites are covering at a 53.98% clip (61-52-2).

Ravens beat previously undefeated Broncos
Savvy betting veterans may have recognized that Sunday’s Denver Broncos-Baltimore Ravens game was a trap. Considering the Broncos were the undefeated team and the Ravens were on a three-game losing streak, Denver looked good as 4.5-point underdogs. But Baltimore smoked Denver front start to finish, easily covering the spread in a 30-7 rout. The under 42.5 also covered in this contest as the Broncos failed to score in the first half and fourth quarter.

49ers lose, but cover against Colts
The Indianapolis Colts are still undefeated after surviving an 18-14 decision over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, but they failed to cover as 13-point favorites. San Francisco had been reeling coming into the game as losers of two straight, but Mike Singletary’s squad quickly grabbed a 7-0 lead and held onto a 14-13 lead at halftime. But they failed to score in the second half and suffered defeat. The under 45 covered easily in this game.

Underdog Panthers shock Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals looked like one of the better picks on the Week 8 scoreboard, but Kurt Warner killed bettors with turnovers as the Carolina Panthers beat the Cards 34-21 as 10-point underdogs. DeAngelo Williams rushed for 158 yards as the Panthers jumped out to a 28-7 halftime lead and easily covered the spread. The over 43.5 also hit in this contest.

Brett Favre earns season sweep over Packers
The Minnesota Vikings continue to be a sound bet for NFL bettors as they covered as 3.5-point underdogs against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Brett Favre threw for 244 yards with four touchdown passes as the Vikings easily covered with a 38-26 outright win. The combined 64 points easily covered the over at 46.5.
