One week is now in the books in this 2011 NFL season, and perhaps the most shocking result of the opening week was a normally dormant Buffalo Bills offense going into Kansas City and trouncing the Chiefs 41-7.
At the same time, the Detroit Lions lived up to their preseason hype, going into Tampa Bay and coming away with a 27-20 road win that was not as close as the final score, as the Buccaneers scored a late touchdown with a little over one minute left while down 27-13.
However, that combination or results sets up a nice contrarian angle that has stood up well over the past nine years, and this is just the first of a handful of NFL trends and angles for NFL Week 2.
Play on any team that lost its last game by more than 20 points at home (92-64-1, 59.0% ATS since 2002): Professional teams do not like to get embarrassed, especially at home, and they usually come back strong in their next game, especially if it is early in the year.
