NFL engineers are testing protective facemasks on helmets for the 2020 season, NFLPA medical director Thom Mayer said on "The Adam Schefter Podcast,"

Mayer recommends that players wear modified facemasks as the world continues to combat the coronavirus pandemic. The NFL is working with Oakley on new facemasks with surgical or N95 material.

"Yes, it's a possibility," Mayer said of the prototypes being used for the upcoming season. "Back in early March, I suggested ways to handle the helmets and the facemasks ... the league's bioengineers are testing prototypes with Oakley. They're looking at every issue, including when masks fog up.​

Lmao. Do you know how many fucking players there are? And how many times they would have to test? It’s not that easy. If there’s a way to help to prevent contracting it, I’m sure they are going to look into all avenues.

They don’t want lawsuits. Do everything you can to protect your players and make players well aware of the risks.


This is why only pro leagues are going to be able to handle this. Think clearly NFL is planning for a resurgence because they’ll be in the midst of it.
