I'm thinking of doing a 3 team, 10 point teaser for Saturday. So far I have:
Pit pk
Wash +4.5.....My problem is deciding between Carolina +13, or Atlanta +7. Any insight or suggestions are most welcome. Thanks in advance.

Lawrence,

I too am wondering about this Car/Atl game. I'm leaning toward Atl for the following reasons:

1. ATL needs the game too, not as bad as Carolina, but Home Field for at least one game is important.

2. Carolina's last five wins have come against teams that are a combined 22-43.

3. The Falcons have not lost at home to the Panthers since a 9-6 defeat on Sept. 7, 1997, and have won eight of the last nine meetings.

4. The public is betting Carolina quite a bit more than ATL for this game.

5. I believe the Duckett injury will inspire his replacement(s) for this game.

6. Line opened at 3.5, that tells me the books know ATL is the side, trying to sucker in people with that half point. Just my opinion on that, but I have read that 3.5 favorites cover more than 2.5 favorites, just the opposite of what you would think.

Good luck, I bought the Panthers early in the week and will scalp out of them for a profit. I like the Atl side, with 7pts. it looks great to me.

I think ATL wins outright. Carolina has been hot but if you look at the teams they have beat, they aren't very strong. They come back to reality this week IMO

Comments regarding the arrest of Carolina Panthers punter Todd Sauerbrun on charges of driving while impaired, speeding and driving without a license.

Head Coach John Fox

On his reaction to Sauerbrun being arrested: We are very disappointed. It is something that we take very seriously, and the League has rules and protocol that we go by.

On if Sauerbrun will play on Saturday at Atlanta: There are no rules that would allow him not to play.

On how frustrating it is that incidents like this continue to occur: We are a microcosm of society. It happens on every NFL team. It's something that we take very seriously. It's something that you don't want to happen but it's reality.

General Manager Marty Hurney

On his reaction to Sauerbrun being arrested: Obviously, we take these things very seriously. When we met with Todd, he apologized for the situation. There's a legal process that has to take place. Todd knows and anybody in our organization knows how we feel about these things and how we address them. It's a serious matter, and we are treating it as such.

On if this hurts the team's morale: I don't think so. People make mistakes, and everybody in our organization knows that. Again, there's a legal process that has to take place first. The important thing is that anytime something like this happens, we address it with our team and we address it with the player in question. Everybody knows how seriously we take these matters.
