Bullish on da Bears as Orton hears a Hoo and provides Chicago with a long-needed quality QB. Bears defense, healthy again, makes them a live dog.
Bears, bulls, and dogs. Oh my.

NO+4 over MIN, 2 units (Bodog)
Fading MIN. It's not Moss, and it's not Culpepper. It's the offensive line, which misses their injured center and has gone from dominant to pathetic. N.O. runs it down their throat.

TB-3 over GB, 2 units (long gone, now -3.5)
Have watched both games of both teams; Fading GB and loving the Bucs. It's the offensive line thing again, for both: GB lost both guards to free agency and it shows. TB's O line has been surprisingly effective, although it helps to have a runner as fast, powerful, an decisive as the Cadillac. Kiffen's defense, healthy again, is deadly to teams reliant on the pass.

CLE+14 over IND, 1 unit (Bodog, will likely be WA)
Indy's defense is so good now that, oddly, it's time to quit favoring them by 2 touchdowns. They are now perfectly happy to win 17-6. Also, Cremmel gives Manning the heebie-jeebies.

Like PHI over OAK for the obvious reasons. ATL/BUF and JAX/NYJ are likely to be field-goal fests, making +8.5 huge.

I dont make my NFL bets until much further along in the week, once I can see where the public money is, and have a chance to check out some of the matchups I think look profitable. I havent even opened up the NFL Lines page yet this week..

One word of advice, granted Im no pro at all of this.. but anytime you find yourself saying:

"Why is team X getting points against team Y" for any reason.. step back and rethink your approach.

ex. KC +3 @ Den on monday night.. Everyone loved it, and everyone lost with it.

Mama always said there would be days like this. Of course, she drank a lot and was a manic-depressive. But, she was right.

Lost the TB bet by 3.5 points, the SEA bet by half a point, NYJ by 2.5 points, and the DAL bet by 2.5 points.
On the other hand, my teasers kicked ass, if Carolina can manage to defeat the Packers tomorrow, I'm up 3 units on the week despite everything.

OK, after the Carolina finish I don't get to whine about losing the close ones anymore. Lost all the straight bets, won all the teasers. 5-4 this week, up 3 units as two of the winners were 2 units each. Overall, 9-8, up 2.6 units. arty:

Only one thing I see so far for next week, again a 6-point teaser at WSEX (+100)
MIA+8.5 over BUF, BAL+7 over DET.
Besides just likeing MIA and BAL here, the rational is largely the same: low-scoring games, making a touchdown edge huge. DET is in disarray, Joey stinks, and BUF doesn't know who their QB is. BUF's defense has been surprisingly ineffective, and Taki's out for the year.
