This week, it wouldn't be a surprise if all the favorites covered outright. However, one more game will help determine how good teams really are. This week I used a lot of stats and knowledge of these guys in my breakdown.

Cologne vs. Frankfurt (Under 39, -105) (4 units) Frankfurt loves to run the ball with workhorse Ahmed Galloway, and why wouldn't they? Akili Smith has proven that he not only sucks in the NFL, but in NFL Europe as well. Cologne on the other hand can play both ways, they have a decent QB in Kevin Thompson and have a good running game as well. Frankfurt has a horrible run defense however, as evidenced by the 230 yards rushing they gave up to Berlin in Week 1, and you should see a lot of rushing the ball in this one. Cologne will probably win, but this should be a slugfest, Frankfurt sucks, but they don't suck that bad.

Berlin (-4) vs. Amsterdam (-101, 3 units) I know, I bet against Amsterdam a lot. I told myself this week I wouldn't do it until the line came out. The problem with this line is that Berlin is really good. The reason it is so low is because Hamburg gave Berlin a helluva game last week when they were almost a double-digit favorite. A game in which I thought Hamburg would cover although didnt have the balls to post. Hamburg is a pretty good team that's the truth, but now too much credit has been taken away from a good Berlin team. Amsterdam likes to throw, throw, and throw, and run less than any other team in the league and this plays into Berlin's hands. You beat Berlin by playing the game Hamburg did against them, a low-scoring slugfest where you pound each other on the ground. Berlin should roll, only reason I'm hesitant is the Red Light factor. Some teams will get a little crazy in Amsterdam the night before a game there and then you're stuck with a QB that has a 2.56 blood alcohol level, a toked up RB that smoked enough to make Ricky jealous, and a hesitant CB who's playing scared because he doesn't know if he got syphillis from that hooker he was with last night. However, Berlin is a good team and has a coach that should keep this from happening. Berlin wins this one by double digits.

Week 3 Power Rankings: (I will put these in tiers to give you an idea of who has a chance to play with who, who's good, and who just sucks)

Tier 1A:Berlin
Tier 1B:Hamburg, Cologne
Tier 2: Frankfurt, Amsterdam
Tier 768: Rhein (They just look horrible, absolutely dreadful. Then again, they have the worst QB's in the league by far in Scott McBrien and Andy Hall, and that's saying a lot in a league with only one real good QB---Dave Ragone)

YTD: 1-2-0 (+0.75 units

Some wonderful BrownsFan quotes....

Week 1 quotes....
"Rhein is a pretty good team"

"Hamdan is pitiful and even though thi is NFLEL, he still will suck it up"

Week 2 quotes...
"Frankfurt will have a winning record while Amsterdam will not the fact of the matter is"

"Akili Smith can do well in the NFLEL"

"Rhein Fire vs. Cologne Centurions OVER 39.5 (-105) 1 unit Neither team looks like they have much of a pass defense"

"Cologne on the other hand looks like they're going to be a shoot-it-out team this year"

Week 3 quotes....
"Akili Smith has proven that he not only sucks in the NFL, but in NFL Europe as well"

"Tier 2: Frankfurt, Amsterdam"

"Tier 768: Rhein (They just look horrible, absolutely dreadful. Then again, they have the worst QB's in the league by far in Scott McBrien and Andy Hall, and that's saying a lot in a league with only one real good QB---Dave Ragone)"

.... Two weeks of games and you're giving up on all of your stances? Watch the Cologne game have 57 points scored in it.... Gotta make a stance and stick with it... you don't beat the books in a craptastic sport that few follow by reading statistics that they can read. Take your stance and continue betting with it, though I must say that you prediction of Amsterdam to be the worst in the league was quite funny, as was Hamden to be the worst in the league.

Though I'll give you credit where credit is due... you might not be a great NFL Europe capper, but this line deserves highlights as the NFLE line of the week...

"Some teams will get a little crazy in Amsterdam the night before a game there and then you're stuck with a QB that has a 2.56 blood alcohol level, a toked up RB that smoked enough to make Ricky jealous, and a hesitant CB who's playing scared because he doesn't know if he got syphillis from that hooker he was with last night."

Nicely done roomy....

Remember, since there is no turnover from year to year in NFL Europe you are basically starting from scractch with prognosticating each year. The only chance you get to see these guys is at the mini training camp in Florida. That's why you have to constantly change opinions in this league, if you don't more often than not you're going to get burned. Also, it's not like you can take a step back and analyze it like the AFL or NFL because NFL Europe's regular season is only 16 weeks. The key in this sport is to be flexible and be able to look at games in different ways.

Unbelievable crazy game between Berlin and Amsterdam and a miracle cover by Rhein. Rhein was down 31-0 at half and scored 24 in the second half to cover the 8.

Final:
Amsterdam 31 Berlin 27
Hamburg 31 Rhein 24

YTD 2-3-0 (+1.55 units)
