Unnecessary roughness has now become the unnecessary touching penalty! Wasn't the unsportsmanlike conduct non call (diving arms, flailing) more egregious than the unnecessary touching penalty?

That call on Mahomes didnt bother

If it was the 2nd quarter with 9 minutes left in week 7, the refs are making the same call. Especially on a star QB

true but burrow got roughed a minute earlier and nothing

there was no 1 awful call in the game really, just a bunch of close ones that all seemed to go against cincy

Agreed.

The bad call in that last minute was the pretty blatant holding on the punt back return that set up the field goal

Lol they about to fall off for a couple years just watch. The slurpfest with Burrow is too extreme. This mofo Pratt got his ass ran over by Pacheco in the 4th qtr.

Yeah, Cincy was complaining about that block in the block

Holding/pass interference can be called on many plays, but thankfully is not. In this game, the Bengals were called whenever KC needed it (giving them two first downs on their TD drive) in addition to the other items posted here. The divisional and wildcard games had very few penalties which is the way it should be. This crew (and the NFL crew) suddenly decide to be a factor in the SB match-up. Of course, Philly won because they were better, but that crew was still pretty poor. I plan the SF coaching staff for the lack of the challenge on the incomplete pass, but first the refs had to miss a pretty obvious call (where was the ref coming over from the middle of the field as it is his call)?

Pratt is right

Other teammates babying Ossai when they should have been giving him hell for his stupidity and costing them the game
Disagree

That kinda shit can ruin a locker room. Pratt is probably gone anyway so not a huge deal

Ossai played an incredible game, part of why we were in it

For what?

You win as a team, you lose as a team. He fucked up but it wasn't the only play in the game. They had plenty of chances.

Last KC offensive play. The same play as the late hit out of bounds. No, a choke hold isn't a penalty for holding. Nothing to see here.

Because it wasn't a bad play or a missed play

It was pure stupidity
Ossai made a couple tremendous plays right before that to keep them out of FG range. He played an awesome game, one of the best players on the field

Teammates dogging him would have done nothing positive. You could boil the game down to so many individual plays; that one is just magnified

EXACTLY! Either always call it or don't call it at all! The problem is the inconsistency and the one-sidedness of the calls. The other game was just as bad. I mean even if SF had a QB or a coach they still couldn't win that game with all the close calls going against them. First time I ever heard Gene Steratore disagree with calls on the field. The real problem is there's a lot of flopping and diving going on. NFL may become like soccer if they continue to award flops like Mahomes on Sunday!
