While the Detroit Lions will be without Ndamukong Suh for their Sunday Night Football game against the New Orleans Saints, and the Jacksonville Jaguars will begin life without former head coach Jack Del Rio on Monday Night Football against the struggling San Diego Chargers, there are a handful of significant pay head games that are under the radar. There are three teams tied for the final AFC Wild Card position heading into this weekend, and while one name has the Denver Broncos in the spotlight, the New York Jets and Tennessee Titans are still very much alive.

The Jets will be talked about not for the fact that they are still in the AFC Wild Card race, but for the fact that they were expected to be in a much more comfortable situation at this point in the season. New York bounced back from consecutive losses to beat the Bills for the second time in a month, but will be gunning for just their first win in six weeks against a per head team other than Buffalo. Washington enters this game coming off of their first win in seven tries, and if the Jets can play strong defense and not turn the ball over, they should be able to sneak out a crucial road win.

The one price per head team still alive in the AFC that nobody seems to be talking about is the Titans, which have won three of their last five to stay within reach of both a Wild Card spot and the AFC South division lead. But three of Tennessee’s final five games will be on the road, so they will need to stick to running the ball hard, and using their rushing attack to set up the pass. The Bills have lost four straight and probably would have had a chance against the Jets if Steve Johnson didn’t drop a crucial ball over the middle late in the fourth quarter when he was alone. Those are the types of mistakes that have defined Buffalo’s season of late, but if they can just execute and play to their fundamentals, they should have a shot late.

Denver Broncos @ Minnesota Vikings (PICK)

The reason for everybody talking about the Broncos is obvious, especially considering a win over the lowly Vikings combined with an Oakland Raiders’ loss would move the team in to first place in the AFC West. Tim Tebow has helped in more ways than one, as his critics tend to forget that his ability to control the clock and not turn the ball over has helped the entire team, including a defense that is no longer being overexposed, play better football. Minnesota has lost three straight but have managed to keep it close against the Raiders and Atlanta Falcons in consecutive weeks, so Tebow may need some more bookie softwaremagic to pull this one out.
