The NFL owners ratified a decision made last spring to hold the game at Pro Player Stadium. Super Bowl 41 will be the ninth time Miami has hosted pro football's premier event, tying it with New Orleans as the most frequent host.
Houston will host this season's Super Bowl 38 on February first, while next season's game will be played in Jacksonville, Florida. Detroit will host the game in 2006. The site of the 2008 Super Bowl will be decided at owners' meetings in Chicago on October 29 and 30. The contenders are Arizona, Tampa, Washington and New York-New Jersey.
Meanwhile, the NFL decided by the slimmest possible margin to extend the life of NFL Europe for two more seasons. The European league, which has lost money, got the minimum of 24 votes to continue in operation.
