New to stocks...where to start

I am thinking of opening an Ameritrade account and putting $5,000 in my account.

Any advice on what stocks to start with?

Any other advice for a beginner?

I LIKE THE ARK EFTs . They are managed by Catherine Wood . Both ARKF and ARKG are at all time highs. ARKG deals with Medical and as cures for not just Covid but other diseases are found the fund will continue to grow. ArkG is trading close to $80/sh. If you want a high dividend payer Et pays a $1.22 annual dividend on a stock trading under $6.50.

Right now Ameritrade does not trade in Crypto currencies or partial shares none as slices. Sofi trades in both and Scwabb trades in fractional shares

You can also look into: Energy storage, KIRK, COST, FDX, autonumous vehicles and components, Lithium mining. Look for the Future. Biden get's in, Interest rates will go up, Commodities like Feeder Cattle and live cattle will be king. Inflation with oil to $50 a barrel. As an ex Floor trader, learn to read charts! Google has Waymo the future! One thing for sure, learn to trade! Learn from the Exchanges. CME, CBOT. We will under Biden have the best trading opportunities of our lifetimes, be ready! Always use Stop Orders with Options! Do not allow these fools to tell you to buy KIRK at $15! They should of told you to buy at $ 6.25. Learn to predict, not buy at the highs. SPG pays a 7% dividend. Stocks are about a 50-50 chance. That's why I play options or stocks along with options (covered calls and covered strangles).
For a great (and free) education on options go to tastytrade's learn page. I downloaded the Tastytrade app on my Roku and watch these guys on TV all day long.
The app also lets you access all of the learning. I suggest going to the "Where do I start" segments.

have a BASIC understanding of technical analysis . Someone gives u a tip on a stock? LOOK AT THE CHART FIRST ( price action doesnt lie, its truth), then knock urself out and do dd on the company
