Anyone remember the time Monster Sports?(I think the site was called) offered a free $1000 bet? found the offer in my spam folder. Most amazing promo in internet history. No catch other than you had to deposit $1000 to the site and bet the Steelers (opening game in 06/07 NFL season I believe)
If the bet lost, you get refunded your $1000 - no catch. The bet won so everyone who went with this offer made a FREE $1000! Amazing, they did it to get new customers/members to their site...then the stupid US gov violates our rights and bans online gambling. The site lost about 5.5 million in that promotion. Ironically I used the 2k I won to buy a used car, and it just happened to have a Pittsburgh Steelers sticker on the side window.
