Another rough start to a series. At least once again we will be playing on an underdog. Combined with Sunday's loss to win one unit:

Rockies (+115) at Giants - Francis vs Cain

Good Luck. We may need it.

The Rockies came through. So now:

19-2 (+12.05 units)since All Star Break
3-1 posted

There are no plays today (8/26).

The Dodgers are only one game below .500 and have lost 4 in a row but I am not playing on them. I'm sticking strictly to the parameters in the opening post. There may be plays tomorrow depending on the results of the Rockies and Twins games tonight.

Good news: There are two plays today.
Bad news: They are the Twins at -180 and the Giants at -260. Yikes!

The Twins (74-58) have lost 4 in a row and the Rockies (63-71) have won four in a row.

Oh well. Both plays to win a unit.

8/27
Twins (-180) at Mariners - Perkins vs Feierabrand

Giants (-260) vs Rockies - Hernandez vs Lincecum

2 more wins for the system:

21-2 since All-Star Break +14.05 units
5-1 posted

Now I am really glad I did not get greedy and take the Dodgers as a system play starting Tuesday. It would have been a loss with a hefty price paid. This is why I am strictly sticking with the rules laid out in the opening post.

8/28 - No plays today

8/29 - The D-Backs will be a play and there may be one more

The D-Backs at 68-65 are coming off a 4-game losing streak including being swept by the lowly Padres.

8/29 - D-Backs (Even) vs Dodgers (Kuroda vs Davis)

At least we are getting even money tonight with the D-Backs. Hopefully they win tonight because if they don't, we will be paying a higher price with Haren tomorrow.

There may be two new plays tomorrow depending on how the Padres and Nationals do tonight.

Goodluck!

Another win:

22-2 since All Star Break (+15.05 Units)
6-1 posted

The Washington Nationals who are the NL's worst team have recently completed a 4 game winning streak including a sweep of the Dodgers.

8/30 - Braves (-105) at Nationals (Reyes vs Bergmann)

Unfortunately, the Braves couldn't pull it off, so we go to the second play of the series combined with yesterday's loss for one unit:

8/31 - Braves (-135) at Nationals (Jurrjens vs Balester)

Who would have known it would be possible for the worst team in MLB to win 6 in a row (now 7)? Oh well, we look to get back on track going against:

The Mariners (54-83) have recently completed a 4-game winning streak.

9/2 - Rangers (-165) vs Mariners (Feierabend vs McCarthy)

Good luck!

What about the Cards aren't they a play? 4 game losing streak with a winning record of 74-64.

Not sure how I missed that one. Thank you.

We lost some posts so I will have to update the record and units later. There have been no plays since Friday 9/5. The Cubs losing six straight hurt pretty bad, but we are still up since the All-Star Break. This is somewhat experimental and it will be interesting to see how it goes for a full season in 2009.

The Rays are currently struggling and in danger of losing their AL East lead that they have had for quite a while. They have lost 4 straight, but we do get them as an underdog tonight.

9/9 - Rays (+139) at Red Sox (Kazmir vs Matsuzaka)

Good luck!

The Rays pulled it out with an improbable ninth inning comeback against Papelbon and the Sox.

There is another play this afternoon. The Giants (64-80) have recently won 4 in a row. Today, they play the D-Backs who can hopefully end their five game slide.

9/10 - D-Backs (-165) at Giants (Haren vs Hennessey)

Good luck!

D-Backs can't close it out in the ninth, so we have the second and final play against the Giants.

2nd play

9/11 - Padres (+115) vs Giants (Cain vs Geer)

Went back and did it from the first fo this year and you would have gained about 4.75 extra units

Thank you for checking that. I was hoping it would have been more. I have been thinking about filtering it down but I'm not sure where. Making it a 3 play series wouldn't work, because about 80% of the losses would have been losses in the 3rd game as well.

I may end the system 9/1 next year. The three losses in this month have been killers. I think it has to do with a lot of contending teams gripping at the end of the season. Teams playing with nothing to lose against teams that are too tight can always create unpredictable results.

It's make or break time for the system:

Game 2 on the Cardinals (L5)
9/16 - Cardinals (+110) at Reds (Looper vs Arroyo)

Game 1 on the Brewers (L4)
9/16 - Brewers (-125) at Cubs (Sabathia vs Dempster)

Game 1 against the Royals (W4)
9/16 - Mariners (-110) at Royals (Morrow vs Duckworth)
