I have a 2014 Jeep GC Limited.

I do not suggest this vehicle. I am on the 2nd safety recall (Chrysler is slow rolling the part) and it seems to have something wrong with the electronics. The big screen sometimes doesn't come on and the interior lights have the same problem.

I have been a sucker for the Jeep before as they look nice but every one I've had seems to have structural issues. I'm already over this car but don't want to waste the $ to get rid of it.

On the positive side, you can bet ~22 MPG on the highway as it has an 8 speed transition.

I think luxury Minivan is best bang for your buck.

Can be pretty luxurious and you get value because of the stigma that goes with a minivan.

Feels weird to say this, but I think the Honda Odyssey is one of the best vehicles on the market...

JEEP has had a horrible reputation since their inception, although they have improved very greatly over the last ten years.......still, I will continue to avoid this brand.

Honda, Toyota, and Nissan all better overall ........

Excellent choice......Toyota, Nissan, and Honda all have a broad range of vehicles to fit most anyone's needs, and most all are highly dependable with good resale value.

Correct. All 3 are the best cars on the market by far. Best engines, best gas mileage, best designs, longest lasting, and best resale value. It's not even close IMO. Same goes for their luxury brands; Lexus, Infinity, and Acura.

I too agree with the Jeep being Junk. I'll take an pre84 CJ, but that's about it. If I was considering a Jeep, I would look into the Infinity F as they're coming out with the 2015 in August and changing it to the G50. Deals to be had. Buddy here is letting em slide for over 25% off the sticker. New G37x fully loaded AWD and all for a tad over $30k.

For most, this is good advice.

A quality vehicle with 10-20k miles on it is a savvy way to purchase a vehicle to save a big percentage off the MSRP .......

This is true, but other things to consider...

1) The finance rate difference in new vs used. Most aren't paying cash, and new cars are practically being given away now with 0% financing all the way up to 72 months in some cases. 0.9% for 60 is practically everywhere. Once factoring this in, the cost difference sometimes can be minimal, if there at all...

2) Wheel and deal and get them to take it off the top anyways. It can be done. Prices of used cars are up right now, which makes it even easier.

I got a 3rd safety recall notice 2 weeks ago and traded the jeep in for a 2014 Chevy Silverado LTZ (with the Z71 package).
I think the general advice for Honda, Toyota, and Nissan is good. I just like Chevy trucks as they have been good to me so far. Trading one in for the Jeep was a horrific mistake.

I will never buy a Chrysler product again.

bacon, did you ever buy a car?
