They're all hurting, I went this summer with friends, it was lean except for the LA weekend warriors hitting town Thur/Fri/Sat. Harrah's comped me (and thus friends too) for the five days, I gave them no action this time, spending my time at Wynn, Hilton Superbook, and GVR. I'll be curious to see if they keep sending me comps in the mail?

After this last trip, having to deal with the strip and LA weekender crowds, and the silly nightclub that PH turned their casino into(Pleasure Pit..WTF?), I'm done with the Genie/PH. I think I'm a GVR and/or Stations guy now, really like the movie theatres they have in house too(GVR, Red Rock, Texas), just got a three day comp in the mail from Stations, they'll host my next visit.

LV Sportsbooks and their offerings have me scrambling to my laptop and/or calling CR and Jamaica for better offerings and odds..

Frankly, for old-schoolers, Vegas offers lil' more than new celebrity outpost restraunts, and a perverse curiosity of comparative essay on old-school LV vs modern-day LV..

As others have mentioned, a trip to NYC, SF, Chi, Fla, Ca, hunting or fishing camps, ski resorts, SEC football road trips, etc..are all much better options.

Agree with everything you said, except that at the LV hilton you can get down, what you need.

How ya been buddy, you have been missed. I like my trips to Morro Bay for seafood, I miss Hoops at the Sportinghouse, the leather chairs and putting green at the DI.

I started betting $20 a game for fun and it was awesome to have action. Right now, I have $200 on Colorado, and I don't even feel like watching the game. It just gets old.

Funny you say that. I still remember my first bet ever...$25 on a Monday night game, Dallas -3 at Chicago. I was in college and had gotten a local's number through my boss. I was nervous and edgy throughout the whole day. I watched every play of that game...and it felt like my entire world came crashing down when it lost. As recently as a couple years ago...I actually fell asleep on the couch watching a college FB game where I had a nickel on one of the teams. I remember waking up just as my team kicked a winning field goal as the clock wound down, then I just turned off the tube and yawned.

21 nailed it perfectly...Vegas is trying to attract the upper middle class clientele who knows nothing about gambling, but will happily dump their money on stupid shit when they go for a weekend. Don't think there's an endless supply of those kinds of people out there (let's hope not anyway). What really pisses me off is when the house changes the rules as they go along whenever they feel like it...like that GN teaser bullshit. Reminds me of one of those whiny kids in high school who would cry and try to come up with lame excuses to avoid having to pay when he lost a bet...

lv hilton oddsmaker says they dont want teaser action, they offer -130 on 6pt. teasers and offshores offering -110 is like giving away money.

i am going this weekend and bring my laptop, for all my action.

20 years ago, I used to play 6.5 pt teasers at even money. 30 years ago, I had a BM who booked 14 pt 4-team teasers at even money. He went to his grave owing me over 6 figures. How times have changed!

Speak for yourself. I sit in traffic jam after traffic jam in this city all day long. This comes as no surprise though to me as I knew this when I came here.

But with that said I think gambling and casinos as a whole continue to get bigger and bigger across the united states, meaning I dont think people get as excitied to come here anymore as they can literally do almost all of the same things in their own backyard nowadays.

Not to beat a dead horse, but living in WEST vegas, you will experience much worse traffic day in and day out than if you lived on the EAST side...........just another proponet of why I like Green Valley over Summerlin.

I read in one thread that last week the Golden Nugget tried to pay less than the teaser ticket said it would pay. Is there any truth to this? They couldn't get around Gaming pulling that sh*t.

Golden Nugget was very tight with comps during the Bash. I played over $1500 in the sportsbook and got two drink tickets the whole weekend. Then they wouldn't let me order Corona's with them.

Pretty good Rail, haven't posted this past year, been busy with biz and life, rarely even had the time to check posting boards for plays, and almost never reading the main boards for general topic matter. I hope all has been well with yourself and all the RXers..Coach LT, Moon88, etc..

Unlike many other years, this year it appears that your SC may well be everybit as good as you think them to be, but the season is young, OU still has time to possibly fade yet again from it's prototype laser start though they really very strong, and the SEC still has plenty of time to have a monster emerge from the pack, it should be fun!

GN is offering me 3 nights for $99. That's the best DT hotel, and I don't even play there at all, when I stay there. Are the rest of the DT hotels going to be $15 ?

I played mostly at Binion's ( BJ), when there a week after RX Bash, talked with pit bosses a lot, they told me GN and many LV hotels were near bankruptcy. They offered me a room on future visits, if I'd sign up for their card, I wasn't playing heavy, just a few reds to a few greens, but for long periods of time.

$33 for the best hotel DT, $20 at others.... yeah, they're hurting,IMO !
