Says Amtrack.
I forgot to ask them why...cause in the big scheme of things "why" doesn't mean much.
But for those that were dumb like me....Amtrack does not go into LasVegas Nevada, but will take you to Needles California. Then they have a bus (4.5 hour ride from there ).

One can only wonder if Amtrack decided that Needles was a better tourist attraction than Las Vegas....Or did some higher authority like Nevada or the Uncle Sam...tell them "no"?

4.5 hour bus ride from Needles? That is insane, you can drive to Needles from here in 2 hours. They don't have service here because they didn't have any other business after Vegas. They used to have a line that stopped at the Union Plaza, closed it down because while people would come here from LA or Denver, there was no other traffic on the line. The Needles line goes from LA to Chicago without going through Denver and is supposedly faster because of it. I forgot some of the rationale, but it was sort of a big thing back in the 90s when they cancelled the service.

They would have to pay me a lot more than $158 to sit on a Greyhound bus for over a day. God that would be horrible. I have been on them a few times for 5 or 6 hour rides and they were horrendous. If you are on the bus for a few days you won't be showering and neither will your fellow passengers. Even more ridiculous is if you buy in advance and wait for some sales, you can fly from Vegas to Chicago for about $250 roundtrip. That would be the best $100 anyone has EVER spent!

Mexican first class buses are ten times better than Greyhound, how sad is that?

I have sat on a greyhound for a day and a half. FLA to MA.

It is horrible. .The people start to stink after a while and it gets absolutely packed the closer you get up north.

The greyhound station in NYC looks like a damn airport its absolutely huge in terms of bus stations.

I've taken Amtrack a few times many -many yrs ago; from Virginia to AC, NJ. The ride on it was very pleasant! Totally different than any bus ride.....I don't care for buses across town....much less across country.
