Also try to get out to DEATH VALLEY, it is amazing and there are all kinds of weird old crumbly mines in the hills that might not have scorpions in them. Death Valley is only 3 hours away and gets so dark at night you can almost taste the milky way.

i was at the duke/wake game early in the week and duke look like crap in the 2nd half, a crazy year for sure as 1 game teams look great 1 game and in slow motion the next game, but i really didnt think carolina was going to win this game what duke won againt wake or not, but again imo if there is a good loss for a team, i think this was for carolina

like bigbet said, the downtown is the place you should be as its been so re-done and improved.its just a great place to carry on and be yourself.everything is also cheaper there.

Awesome...definitely keeping that in mind. I appreciate it.

i hate to bust your bubble on tournament games as there will be nothing really being played.with your dates that you listed it looks like you will be coming home on the 18th and that is the day they start the play in games to get in the tournament,so it seems your not really a ncaab fan if you thought it was going on

have a great time,...enjoy vegas,..everybody else does

All the conference tournaments will be on.

Rio also has really cool bar/lounge on the roof top, great views, reasonably priced drinks

Was reading about the rio.

What about hitting up O'Sheas on st pattys? Is it worth it? Too crowded? Tourist trap?

Any st pattys day suggestions?

O'sheas is gone now I am pretty sure. Take a cab/bus downtown and you will love it. The strip is to touristy. Hell, if you guys are in fairly good shape, walk from EX to downtown. Stop at a few bars/casinos/pawn stars, etc..lol. if you walk at a decent time, it is safe, and its a nice walk with a lot to see for the adventurous type

Cabs and Limos will give you free rides to the Strip Clubs (just tell them you want a free ride, if that limo wont take you just ask the next one) they make $40-$50 per head for dropping you off there.

Cab and Limo drivers get FREE TICKETS to most of the shows on the strip. But, they only get 1 pair a month. So ask them if there are any shows they can get ticket for, and offer to buy them from them for 25%-30% of face value

DONT fall for the VIP CLUB cards guys pass out on the strip for the Night Clubs and Strip Clubs. Those aren't VIP passes, you don't get anything extra at all with them, and they will bug you for a tip. Typically when you use those passes, they uptick you a bit on admission and drinks (cheaper to just go stand in line yourself without the passes) to cover the commission the guy gets. (when you get a card, look at the back, there is usually a 3 or 4 digit code that's his employee number, they make anywhere from $5-$50 per person who uses one of those scam cards)

JOIN the slot clubs, and just use the "Bonus Play" then walk away!

Stay away from a place called "The Las Vegas Lounge" - They are offering drivers $65 a head to go there all this month. (Its a tranny strip club/bar) Unless you are into that sort of thing. So, you will go there, pay the cover, cabby/limo gets his kickback, and drives away laughing... then you get a lapdance, and feel something extra on your thigh.

Also, be sure to read reviews on the "Massage Parlors" before you go. Most of them are just "clip joints" that hustle you for your money and give big $$ kickbacks to drivers.

That's very attractive 20-something year old girl that wants to go to your room for "fun" isn't going to fuck you, I promise. She is going to "Trick-Roll" you for all the cash and valuables you have. But, once in awhile, you might find one that's going to do what she said. But, from all the stories I hear, that's rare.

Stay the night OFF the strip... to expensive. You can get rooms that are just as great for 75% less. Rio is great, Golden Nugget is also. Or if you guys are all sharing a room, book a suite at the LVH!

Just a few pointers....

Pawn Stars is pretty cool to check out too...just don't expect to see the guys there you see on TV. And the place is a dump, in a dump of a neighborhood. Off of Charleston I think close to downtown. Perfect stop if you're out beat-in the feet, running a few beers. Stop by Dino's for a few cold ones as well. I've got some stories about that place.

Pawn Stars is a joke.

The guys are never there. Its a super small building (not even close to being as big as it looks on TV cause of camera angles). The guys sit at home collecting checks, waiting for the producers to call them in when they see an item to put on TV. When they are there filming, they only let 20 people in at a time, so you are stuck in line waiting for 2+ hours at a time, cause the 20 people that are in there don't want to leave, hoping they will be on TV. Usually the wait times on the weekends vary from 15-1hr depending how much occupancy Vegas has that weekend.

Also to note, half the shop is full of "Pawn Stars" souvenirs. Not kidding when I say "half the shop"..... everything from Pawn Star Coins, t-shirts, hats and boibbleheads to a Zip-Lock bag full of stuff found in Chum-Lees belly button.

Absolutely true. Nothing like getting 450 different kinds of Pawn Star shot glasses.

I was told by the chick working, that the dudes you see on TV are there during the week from around 10-1, but 'mostly stay in the back'.

Great info! I will be printing this off. THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!

NFLtrends....if we are staying at excalibur...what are some pretty cool bars walking distance or cab ride to chill at and watch games, drink beer, maybe live music, etc.

Places we should eat some good grub after a night of drinking/gambling?
St pattys day bars we should hit up? (We aren't big dance club people)
Best casino buffets?
Best craps? Blackjack?
Best casino for betting/watching conference tournaments ?

Sorry for all the questions, but you seem very knowledgeable and I don't wanna waste time nor money on tourists crap or bar traps that aren't worthy.
LISTEN to NFL Trends

No doubt I am !!

On that budget you can head to "The Orleans" and catch the games there... cheap blackjack and drinks as well. Food is mediocre tho.

For good decent buffets or places to head head OFF the strip. Rio has a huge buffet that's decently priced and pretty good as well. Or Head downtown, and eat at Tony Romas inside the "Fremont" casino, they have a $12 T-bone steak with all the trimmings from 7pm-11pm (salad or soup, veggies, potato), then head out onto Fremont Street for good fun, a huge party atmosphere, and just a great time every night when it gets dark, and its free. Be sure to hit the El Cortez casino, its a fave of mine. $2 blackjack and Craps, $0.25 Roulette, and lhe people watching there is fantastic. Also inside the Excalibur where you are staying is 2 of my favorite spots as well. You have the bar called "Dicks Last Stand" which is a blast, fun and have the BEST TACOS for cheap... or head over to the 24hours "Popeyes Fried Chicken" lol, trust me, its great.

To watch the tournaments, its going to be a blast at the more "local" spots. But, they tend to fill up quickly so you got to arrive a bit early. LVH should have seating if you get there right before gametime, and try to get a seat in the "Man-cave" area, with the leather recliners and 6 big screens right in front of you, with 2 betting kiosks about 10 feet away.

Try not to waste to much time and money on the Strip, yeah its pretty, but expensive and really not worth it. Once you hit Fremont Street, you will realize how much better it is then the strip. It has more of a "Vegas" feel to it. Enjoy your trip!!

And IF you are going to the "Strip Clubs" call the clubs first, a lot of times they have private viewing areas just for people to watch the games and such, and have promotions for it. Last year for March Madness "Larry Flints Hustler Club" had a VIP table for $200 which included 3 bottles, a tray of appetizers (Chicken Wings, Fries and such) and a Large Pizza. And you could sit there and watch games for 6 hours. So team up with some buddies and all pitch in $50 and look at some T/A while watching the games.

Have fun in Vegas!!

Somehow I ended up in Aliante Casino last year among other places around Vegas last time.........Before all that I was getting roasted the first few days and I ended up walking through part of the city off the normal path and cutting through some ditch or median below the road to get to the Palms and Rio....Then I called up several women in Atlanta and they lifted me up psychologically and emotionally and within minutes of that I hit a good one at the Palms and caught fire the next several days in many spots so did pretty well......Just took me a few days to get in the groove I guess....Hit up Summerlin again and the Suncoast plus the In-N-Out Burger as well........Ate a great buffet at the Wynn too..

If you are staying at Excalibur, Dicks Last Resort is awesome! Great atmosphere and the women are friendly and not stuck up! If you like Dicks Last Resort, than you'll love the Bourbon Room in Venetian!! Probably my favourite lounge. You do have a car, Hoover Dam just 45 minutes away, I wouldn't do the Canyon or Death Valley, do much driving for such a short trip. I did both when I stayed for 8 days. The Canyon is at least 6 hours of drivng both ways! Also best place to eat on a budget In-N-Out Burger, right beside New York New York. Don't let the long lines scare you. They have like 18 people working in the kitchen.

Oh and I never took a cab when I had a car. It's not worth it. Also don't Valet park, it usually takes longer than self park plus you have to tip!

Downtown freemont street is the place to stay and go. entertainment all day long. don't forget to get a mixed drink at the outside bar called the whiskey liquor bar. you wont regret it. the purple nipple is great. on the cup it reads "liquor in the front" and on the other side it says "poker in the rear"
