ALABAMA...Starting QB Croyle, who missed most of previous 2 games, re-aggravated his injured shoulder vs. Ole Miss, but he continued to play and is expected to be in lineup vs. Tennessee this week.
ARKANSAS...Star TB Cobbs (hamstring; 728 YR, 6+ ypc TY) was forced to leave Florida game after running for 88 yds. and a 1st-Q TD. Backup TB Howard relieved Cobbs, but he left after hurting his ankle. Jr. FB Pierce was forced into service at TB in loss to Gators even though he was less than 100% with a shoulder injury.
CENTRAL FLORIDA...Top RB Haynes, who has been trying to play thru nagging groin strain, re-aggravated the injury at Akron and was forced to leave game. RS frosh RB Wilcox had 6 carries for 43 yds. & a TD and 4 catches for 30 more yds. in loss to Zips.
CINCINNATI...Top RB Hall (concussion; 543 YR on 4.8 ypc in first 5 games) sat out loss at UAB, but should be back in action vs. Army after bye last week.
CLEMSON...Sr. RB Kelly, who had 93 YR and a TD in OT win over Virginia (his first significant action of season), left vs. N.C. State after hurting his ankle. Soph RB Coleman & sr. FB Jasmin combined for 88 YR, and Jasmin had Tigers’ only TD, in 17-15 loss to Wolfpack.
FLORIDA STATE...Sr. CB Samuels, Noles’ top cover guy, sat out rest of game vs. Virginia after hurting his neck/back in 1st Q.
GEORGIA...Versatile backup QB Shockley (knee) & starting soph DT Golston (shoulder) DNP at Vandy and will miss rest of season. Soph RB Milton, Dawgs ’ top returning rusher from LY, is also thru for year with nagging leg injury that has kept him on sidelines for most of last month. Starting WRs Michael Johnson (shoulder) & Fred Gibson (knee) did not make trip to Vanderbilt.

RS frosh RB Halsey (knee), Illini’s top offensive weapon, and sr. DE Strong, team’s top pass rusher, were injured vs. Wolverines.
IOWA...Starting QB Chandler bruised his knee vs. Ohio State, but he continued to play.
LA.-LAFAYETTE...Starting sr. QB Rekieta is out after breaking his collarbone vs. N. Mexico State. RS frosh Babb 17 of 29 for 177 yds. with a TDP and 2 ints., and he also ran for 63 yds. and 2 TDs in come-from-behind win over Aggies, Cajuns’ first SU victory of season.
LOUISIANA TECH...Starting sr. DE Cage (shoulder), starting OLB Hamilton (concussion), and starting SS Lee Johnson (shoulder) all missed last game vs. Hawaii.
LSU...Starting soph RB Addai (knee) sat out vs. So. Carolina, and co-No. 1 RB Carey (knee) has missed last 2 games. Blue-chip true frosh Broussard (6-0, 235) & RS frosh Vincent combined for 185 YR, and Vincent had 2 short TD runs, in 33-7 road win over Gamecocks. Starting LG Livings left game after hurting his knee.
MICHIGAN...Star SS Marlin Jackson (leg) sat out vs. Illinois. Soph S Stewart left in 3rd Q of win over Illini after hurting his leg.
MISSOURI...Soph backup QB Riccio got some snaps late in 4th Q of loss to Oklahoma, but HC Pinkel said it wasn ’t due to back injury star Brad Smith suffered earlier in game, and Smith is expected to be ready for Texas Tech this week.
NORTHERN ILLINOIS...Star sr. MLB Duffy (ankle; 122 tackles LY) DNP vs. W. Michigan and will miss rest of season. DE Frank (knee) also DNP and is doubtful this week. Jr. DE Moore (ankle) & soph OLB Lee (hamstring) DNP and are questionable.

Starting jr. slotback Owens (ankle) has missed last 2 games.
PENN STATE...Jr. QB Zack Mills (knee), who started first 5 games, returned to practice during bye week after sitting out last 2 games, and will be available vs. Iowa. Scouts say athletic soph Michael Robinson (655 YP, 101 YR in last 3 games) might continue to start under center, however. Blue-chip true frosh RB Scott (mono) DNP in last game and probably won’t be back until November, if he’s able to return at all TY.
RUTGERS...Frosh RB Hairston, who leads Knights with 546 YR, left vs. Pitt after hurting his knee. Starting WR & kick returner Moses (leg) was also hurt in loss to Panthers, as was starting FS Durango (knee). Starting OLB Beckford (knee) DNP and will miss rest of season.
SOUTH FLORIDA...Starting QB Banks (knee) sat out 55-7 win over Div. I-AA Charleston Southern, but he is expected to be in lineup at So. Miss.
SOUTHERN CAL...Star OLB Grootegoed re-aggravated high-ankle sprain vs. Notre Dame, and starting sr. LT Rogers (sprained knee) & sr. DE Nazel (dislocated thumb) were also injured in 45-14 win at South Bend. Starting TE Byrd DNP and will undergo season-ending knee surgery.

TCU...Starting QB Gunn, who missed 2 games last month with a shoulder injury, left vs. UAB after hurting his groin. Jr. Hassell was 4 of 10 for only 57 yds. with 1 int., but he led Frogs to 11 unanswered points in come-from-behind 27-24 win over Blazers. Starting CB Walker (leg) was injured during game, as was starting LT Alabi (ankle).
UAB...Starting QB Hackney dislocated the thumb on his throwing hand in 3rd Q vs. TCU, did not return, and is expected to miss rest of season. RS frosh Chris Williams was 3 of 11 for 34 yds. with an int. as Blazers blew 8-point 2nd-half lead in 27-24 loss to Frogs.
VANDERBILT...Starting QB Cutler suffered a concussion vs. Georgia, but he returned later in game and is expected to be available vs. So. Carolina.
VIRGINIA...Star RB Lundy (leg) DNP vs. Fla. State. Jr. Pearman had only 24 YR, but he caught 16 passes for 134 yds. and a TD in 19-14 loss to Noles.
WASHINGTON...Starting sr. TB Alexis left vs. Oregon State with a deep thigh bruise. RS frosh Kenny James had 42 YR and a TD in 38-17 win at Corvallis.
WASHINGTON STATE...Starting QB Kegel left briefly vs. Stanford after re-aggravating his slightly dislocated non-throwing shoulder, but he returned later and is expected to be in lineup vs. Oregon State.
WESTERN MICHIGAN...Starting QB Munson left in 4th Q vs. No. Illinois after hurting his hand. Sr. Drach, who has 10 career starts, was 2 of 6 for 13 yds. with an int. in relief. Starting sr. RB Reed did not play in 2nd half. Soph Riley had 4 carries for 32 yds. and caught a pass for 10 more yards in 37-10 loss to Huskies.
WISCONSIN...Starting sr. QB Sorgi did not return after hurting his knee in 3rd Q vs. Purdue and is doubtful for this week. Coaches have confidence in jr. Schabert, who, after throwing game-winning TDP vs. Ohio State in relief of Sorgi 2 weeks ago, completed 5 of 9 for 78 yds. with no ints. in 26-23 loss to Boilers.
