General comments:
"(Offensive lineman) Chris Pino is out for the New Mexico game. He had his second concussion in two months. He's out for two weeks. He might be available in next week's game against Utah. If he gets another concussion, he will be out for the season. It's been a difficult year with so many injuries to our offensive line. Mike Kravetz has a cast on his wrist. It's very difficult for him to function, but he gives us our best chance right now at the right guard position. We really want to use Brandon Bornes more at running back. We need to have him play more to give Michael (Franklin) a rest."
On the inexperience and injuries of the team:
"It's tough. We've lost seven starters and we are starting six freshmen on offense. We're not going to use injuries as an excuse though. We've become very competitive and in our minds, we won that game against Colorado State. We have had two of the best recruiting classes in the Mountain West Conference the last two years and you are seeing the results of that. Brandon Bornes, Kevin O'Connell, Lance Louis, Eric Miclot, Brandyn Dombrowski, Will Robinson, Mike Kravetz - these guys have all seen a significant amount of playing time and it's looking good (for) the future. It's easy to be critical of a young and inexperienced team, but they've played very well given the situation."
