Knicks to acquire Mikal Bridges from Nets.

The New York Knicks agreed on Tuesday to a trade that will see them acquire Mikal Bridges from the Brooklyn Nets, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Knicks will send Bojan Bogdanovic, four unprotected first-round picks (2025, 2027, 2029, 2031), a 2025 protected first-rounder via the Milwaukee Bucks, a 2028 unprotected pick swap and a 2025 second-rounder to the Nets, sources said.
The Knicks also will acquire a 2026 second-round pick from the Nets to complete the deal.
Bridges now joins a New York team that reached the Eastern Conference semifinals this past season, losing to the Indiana Pacers in seven games. And he'll link up with former Villanova teammates Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart and Donte DiVincenzo in New York; they won an NCAA title together with the Wildcats in 2016 (Brunson, Bridges and DiVincenzo won a second title together in 2018).
This is crazy lol," Bridges wrote on social media.
Bridges played his first four full seasons with the Phoenix Suns, who then traded him to the Nets as part of the four-team blockbuster centered around Kevin Durant in February 2023.
He starred for Brooklyn after that trade, averaging 26.1 points in 27 games the remainder of the 2022-23 season. But those numbers dipped as the Nets' primary creator last season, as he averaged 19.6 points in 82 games.
The 27-year-old Bridges has played 474 straight games to begin his career, the longest streak in the NBA over the last 40 seasons. He's one of four players with 1,500 points, 150 3-pointers and 75 steals in each of the last two seasons, joining Luka Doncic, Anthony Edwards and Jayson Tatum.
Bridges is owed $23.3 million and $24.9M over the final two years of his current contract. He is eligible to sign a two-year extension on Oct. 1, and can extend for an additional three years, $113M in six months.

Suns would rather have Bridges than Beal and, at this point, probably Bridges rather than Durant. Their roster is locked in at very bad.

I think Pacers should take Reed then Indiana could have NBA & WNBA rookies of the year….. Loads of potential on both sides of the courts.

Nets got a haul for Bridges

He’s not worth that much
Can't say if he's worth that ransom but like you said the Nets got set up for their future big time or with trading chips.

Looks like the Knicks are going all in.

They'll be pretty damned good if they can stay healthy.

They should be

Health is big variable though

I think they should at least get rid of Randle (I think they will)

Heat's Bam Adebayo to sign 3-year, $166M extension.

MIAMI -- Bam Adebayo, one of the NBA's top defensive players and soon to become a two-time U.S. Olympian, intends to sign a three-year, $166 million extension with the Miami Heat when the league's offseason moratorium on such moves is lifted next month, according to multiple reports.
Adebayo, who will be 27 in July, can sign the deal on July 6, by league rule.
Miami's captain and starting center has two years and about $72 million remaining on his current deal with the Heat, the only team that he has played for since Miami drafted him in 2017.
Adebayo has made the NBA All-Defensive Team in each of the past five seasons, getting selected for the first team for the first time this past season.
"I feel it's a long time coming, obviously," Adebayo said when he made the first team. "Just staying in this moment, enjoying it, blessed to be able to be one of the ones selected."
A member of the U.S. Olympic team that won gold at the Tokyo Games three years ago, Adebayo is part of the team that will play at the Paris Games starting next month. He averaged 19.3 points, 10.4 rebounds and 3.9 assists this past season for the Heat.
Adebayo is three years into his current deal, a five-year, $163 million contract.

Sources: OG Anunoby to sign 5-year, $212.5M deal with Knicks.

Free agent forward OG Anunoby intends to sign a five-year, $212.5 million contract to return to the New York Knicks, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The deal will include a player option and a trade kicker.
The Knicks acquired Anunoby in a trade back at the start the 2024 calendar year, sending out RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley as New York was looking to get bigger on the wing. He will now join Mikal Bridges -- who the Knicks acquired Tuesday night in a deal with the Brooklyn Nets -- in a revamped starting lineup heading into next season.
Anunoby helped the Knicks tear through the competition in the weeks after landing in New York, as the team went 12-2 in the 14 games he played before both he and Julius Randle suffered injuries against the Miami Heat on Jan. 27.
After that, Anunoby, who will turn 27 on July 17, was mostly injured, sitting out 27 of New York's next 30 games with an elbow issue before suffering a hamstring injury against the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Long considered one of the league's premier perimeter defenders, Anunoby -- who averaged 14.7 points and 4.2 rebounds in 50 games between the Knicks and Toronto Raptors this past season -- has also turned himself into a quality 3-point shooter, hitting 38% of his attempts on more than five of them per game this past season.
Across the 33 games he played for New York in the regular season and playoffs combined, the Knicks went 27-6.

Wizards trading forward Deni Avdija to Trail Blazers.

NEW YORK -- The Washington Wizards traded Deni Avdija to the Portland Trail Blazers for Malcolm Brogdon, the 14th pick in the 2024 NBA draft, a 2029 first-round pick and future second-round picks, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Wizards will get Portland's second most favorable first-round pick of the three it controls -- its own, plus those of the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks -- in the 2029 draft, sources said.
Avdija, the ninth pick in the 2020 NBA draft, is about to begin a four-year, $55 million extension that he signed last fall with the Wizards. He gives Portland a two-way wing player to pair with its trio of young guards -- Anfernee Simons, Scoot Henderson and Shaedon Sharpe -- moving forward, plus whomever the Trail Blazers take with the seventh selection in Wednesday night's draft.
Avdija, 23, had a breakout year last season, averaging 14.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.8 assists for Washington while shooting 50.6% overall and 37.6% from 3-point range. He garnered votes for last season's Most Improved Player award, finishing sixth in the voting.
Brogdon, 31, averaged 15.7 points and 5.5 assists last season for Portland, where he played after being sent to the Blazers by the Boston Celtics as part of the Jrue Holiday trade on the eve of training camp last fall. Brogdon, who was the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year in 2023, is now on his fourth team in four seasons and is on an expiring contract of $22.5 million.
He could be a candidate to be moved again by Washington as it continues its rebuilding process under its front office of Michael Winger and Will Dawkins. Washington has the second pick in Wednesday's NBA draft, as well.
By making this deal, Portland also saves several million dollars off its luxury tax bill for next season, which the rebuilding Blazers needed to do in order to duck the tax -- something they are now within reach of doing.
