Atlanta Hawks @ Los Angeles Clippers Saturday March 5 2016 - 10:30 PM EST
2 of 2 - NBA Picks
Current Spread: Los Angeles Clippers -6
The Clippers and Hawks play their second and final meeting of the season. In the first meeting the Clippers took the game on the road by a score of 85-83. Mbah a Moute will be out tonight with an eye injury but J.J. Reddick is expected to play after leaving the game against the Thunder with a lower back injury. The Hawks are healthy on the other hand but are playing a back-to-back on the road. For what it's worth the value of the Hawks playing a 'back-to-back on the road' is diminished because the Lakers and Clippers play in the same stadium. They won't have to travel for this one; but the difference are that the floors will be changed and the fans will be supporting the home side a lot better tonight.
The Clippers are playing great basketball these days. I've been on the other side of them for a few games but they have finally won me over. I am starting to think Griffin not being healthy might be a good thing for this team. The pick and roll with DeAndre Jordan and Chris Paul is unstoppable right now so the Hawks may have some problems with that throughout the night considering their big men don't size up to DJ. Crawford and Reddick continue to hit 3's at an efficient rate and when those two on the court together it's a very scary situation for any opposing defense. The Hawks have been holding their opponents to low field goal % over the course of the last month which goes to show their defense is top notch right now. However, their offense isn't as lethal compared to last year which under appreciates the effort this Hawks team puts into defense.
The Clippers comeback against the OKC Thunder was sensational on Wednesday. OKC has had several collapses in the 4th quarter over the last 2 weeks but the Clippers comeback was by far the best one. Excluding the recent upset to the Nuggets at home; the Clippers have been on fire, including a 19 point win against the Spurs. If the Clippers blew out the Nuggets the spread of this game would probably be 9+. Clippers have had 3 days off and the Hawks just played last night. I think it's safe to say the Clippers got this one.
Dan's pick: Los Angeles Clippers -6
Betting: $330 (3.3 units)
Potential Profit: $300 (3 units)
