While it took little time for the Boston Celtics, Chicago Bulls, and Miami Heat to dispose of their respective opponents in the opening round of the 2011 NBA playoffs, that won’t be the case in a second round that will collide with this year’s Kentucky derby betting race. None of those three teams had trouble with their first round series’, with the battle between the Orlando Magic and Atlanta Hawks the lone set to go past five games. But it will be a different atmosphere as all three teams fight for a spot in the conference finals, with all three determined to prove they belong.

It was the Celtics and Heat that appeared to have the best pay per head chance to represent the conference in the 2011 NBA finals when opening night arrived. Boston as the defending conference champions, and Miami as the team that appeared to have completed one of the most epic offseasons in the history of the sport with the addition of two franchise players in Lebron James and Chris Bosh to compliment a third that they already had locked up in Dwayne Wade. But for all of the talk about the Celtics and Heat it was the Bulls that emerged from the regular season as the team to beat. Chicago finished the year with 62 wins, four more than second-place Miami and six more than third-place Boston. At just 22-years old Derrick Rose emerged as the association’s most dominant player, registering an average of 25 points per game with 7.7 assists and 4.1 rebounds to take the lead as sports betting services favorite to win the MVP award. Complimented by the addition of Carlos Boozer in the offseason, the Bulls finished with the association’s second-best defense, a stat that was directly correlated to the fact that they finished second in rebounds as well. Centers Joakim Noah and Omer Asik developed with Kurt Thomas and Boozer in one of the deepest groups of big men in the league, and their consistency helped Rose emerge as the dominant player he was. Still, with little playoff experience there are question marks concerning how they will play in the coming rounds as things tighten up.

The same can be said for the Heat, whose starters really struggled against the Philadelphia 76ers in the opening round. Miami hasn’t gotten a consistent effort from its bench all year, and that raises several sports betting management uncertainties. The Celtics meanwhile are experienced, but age and injury concerns have some doubting they can go all the way in consecutive years. One thing that is certain is that like in MLB betting, teams won’t sweep second-round series’ the way they did the first, as their will be much more parity. The Eastern conference is wide open with four teams remaining, and while only two will emerge to battle for a shot at the NBA finals, the other two will give them all they can handle. Look to trend against the early winners, no matter what the line is at the end of any particular game.
