The NBA and NBPA announced Wednesday no players tested positive for COVID-19 for the second consecutive round of testing inside the NBA bubble near Orlando, Florida.

In a joint statement the two organizations reported none of the 344 players tested since July 20 yielded a positive result:

The lack of positives is a sign that the bubble approach is working in terms of preventing the contraction and spread of COVID-19, and it suggests that all systems are go for the season restart Thursday when the New Orleans Pelicans face the Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Lakers meet the Los Angeles Clippers.

This is a thread that is related to sports and gambling. Thank you.

Notice that the trolls that spam everything they find on google about coronavirus did not think to start a thread like this, something actually pertinent to sports and gambling. Wonder why.

I'm excited for some sports.

It sucks that for NBA players to do their job, they have to isolate from their family for a crazy extended period of time.

Lets see how it goes when they are bored in their rooms. Not that I give a fuck about cases.

Major League Baseball has altered its schedule for the Philadelphia Phillies, Miami Marlins and New York Yankees after the coronavirus outbreak that has hit the Marlins roster and coaching staff.

As a result of the changes, the Miami Marlins will now be off through Sunday. They were originally scheduled to play the Baltimore Orioles from Tuesday through Thursday and the Washington Nationals from Friday through Sunday.

The Phillies, meanwhile, will be off until Friday after initially being scheduled to host the Yankees on Tuesday and travel to New York for a two-game set with the Bronx Bombers on Wednesday and Thursday.

I am not buying how these dudes will forgo sex for the next 8-12 weeks

Not all of them but these guys know how important the NBA playing is and they're business partners in the league.

What I don't get is how college football plays, those kids don't have much incentive to social distance. I mean what do they care if the networks have games to air or not?

I have friends who work for NBA teams. They are VERY happy the way the bubble is going.

they are now most concerned with round 2 of the playoffs when family members are allowed to visit

Yet they still make tons more than the service folks deployed abroad due to the war mongering politicians. I dont pity them one bit.

For the love of the game? Most big college programs are keeping their info tight vested. Dont want any SJWs catching wind of anything going on internally that would try to ruin the season.

They will play. Unlike the Pac (Cali Schools) who was looking for a reason to cancel, SEC-ACC-BiG12-Big10 are finding ways to make it happen. I am sure there will be a couple SJW schools in the B10 and ACC that will try to get out of playing but overall it will be played.
