Tammy Bruce Breaks Media's Wall of Silence to Hit Best-Seller List
The media establishment didn't like it one bit when NewsMax pundit Tammy Bruce's last book exposed the left-wing thought police, so it erected a wall of silence about her latest, "The Death of Right and Wrong: Exposing the Left's Assault on Our Culture and Values." The stunt, however, didn't work.
She writes to us today:
"I want all of you at NewsMax to be the first to know - it has just been announced that 'The Death of Right and Wrong' will debut at #12 on the New York Times best-seller list on May 11, 2003. I want to thank NewsMax for playing a role in helping to make that possible.
"This is especially exciting considering the fact that I have not been able to get booked on CNN or any broadcast television show, nor has *any* newspaper or magazine in this country reviewed the book. Not one.
"The one 'review' we did get was from Publisher's Weekly, the publishing industry trade magazine. After describing me as a pro-choice lesbian feminist, they then call 'DRW' a 'lurid right-wing screed ...' Well, now it's also a New York Times best seller."
She says the book's success is "also a testament to the importance and influence of sites like NewsMax.com, Fox News Channel and the remarkable impact of talk radio across this country. It also speaks to the power of 'the silent majority,' which I have referred to many times in the discussion about my book. This is exactly why the Left is so afraid of news media which actually allow a full discussion of the issues to take place. It means books like mine will be heard and will make a difference despite the Left's attempts to ignore us into disappearing."
And as long as we have government schools censoring the Founding Fathers and Mount Rushmore, we can't have that, can we?
