Hackett was more than likely hired to try and entice Rodgers to come there
When that did not happen the GM did a panic trade for Wilson it looks like.
Carroll knew exactly what he was doing trading Wilson out and he bent the Broncos over
in the process to help restock his team. They look to have a top 5 pick in the first two rounds
in this coming draft.
The GM needs to be fired also just for the Wilson trade and contract extension.
The biggest problem is Wilson and his contract, they can't trade him, they can't cut him,
they have to keep him for another 2 years it looks like before they can think about cutting him and
eating money on the cap without killing themselves cap wise.
Also seems like Wilson is not liked by his teammates very much at all.
Denver needs to hire a strong veteran coach to right the ship and put Wilson in line about
how things are going to be run. Yesterday the team was fighting on the sidelines multiple times
with multiple people. Hackett had lost all control of the locker room. I think a lot of the blame
can be attributed to Wilson who is not a leader, he is a prima donna.
Denver has a long road to go, they are going to be bad for a few years as they have to keep Wilson,
lost their top draft picks for 2022 + 2023, lost some players who could have helped them.
Hopefully they can get an experienced coach who can make an offense that can salvage whatever
Wilson has left
