There is an career opportunity that may present itself in the area. Can anyone tell me about the area? I know very little about Nashville and it’s surroundings. How is it to live up there? Cost of living? Housing market? Things to do outside of downtown Nashville itself? Amongst other things...thanks for all smart ass and not so smart ass comments....???

I can't answer specifics

I do know it's a bustling and growing urban area with lots of entertainment and a great vibe. It also has a few affluent suburbs and top notch universities

If I move, and the move is not to a waterfront community between S Carolina to Texas, then Nashville it is

Housing had shot thru the roof. People were having to buy hour or more out

Franklin is nice but expensive

Not sure what like doing ? Good rivers to canoe , parks, golf , water parks , etc

Franklin is where we almost stayed during our visit. Still drove there to visit a distillery south of Franklin and we ate there once.

I do like the town

At the last minute, found a new listing in East Nashville and we were their first renters. An amazing place, I left a heartfelt positive review and she did likewise

been there for a Bama game ... exceptionally clean city in the tourist areas down by the Titans stadium and where the Preds play. Nice vibe...like a more upscale and slightly older Austin but without streets filled with bums and Marxists. I thought the locals were friendly but they did complain about the population boom and the increase in cost of living especially skyrocketing housing prices. Coming from airport to Vandy area was a ton of road construction and brutal traffic but I believe airport was on the opposite side of town which increased the commute time.

Only negative of the place was heavy smoking in bars...very few in downtown or Vandy area were 100% non-smoking

Overall it seemed like a nice place to live. Reminded me of a very large Lexington, KY

My perception of it, would be a fairly friendly and low cost of living, nothing close to NYC, Boston, or southern California

It should not be some huge hit IMO

I've never been there, just my impression.

It shouldn't be radically expensive
