4 Units M. Crafton +100 (#88) vs. H. Burton (#18)

Good Luck to All.

Apologies, I should have checked the weather first in Iowa. I was immersed in Pebble Beach action.

Nonetheless, the race has been rained out for this evening. I believe it goes at 12:00 Eastern tomorrow before the Xfinity race. Sure most books will hold wagers and some may return.

As I watch the Trucks on this Fathers Day, watching this kid Chandler Smith (#51) all of 16 years old racing gives me chills. Yeah, I am different. i was racing at Road American when I was 16 but my Father only ever got in a car with me once on the street. The time I flew home from Vegas to pick him up from getting a plate put in his neck. I never drove so carefully in my life. I found out later he does not even remember the drive.

If you have kids, and you care at all, let them know. Two years ago I called my Father on Fathers Day and he attacked me for being a degenerate. Yeah, this is how I make my living after quitting the Corporate World. Then 3 months later when my Mom was sick, his last words were "You and your sister will not see her, Fuck Off" And he is a well educated, well read Man.

Sorry, I stopped therapy, it was not working. I usually never think about it anymore, but this Chandler Smith kid is special.

If you have kids and you care at all, let them know. Not soft, just real.

Ross, the Watermelon Man @ 15-1, sweeps Iowa trucks. He was a Match-up I threw out late. Oh well. Crafton looks good, then fades to...whatever 6 or 8 a few behind Burton.

Sauter, love the anger issues.

Chastain fails the post-race inspection and his victory is overturned....and Vegas did not pay. Fishy?

I was amazed at how well he raced all day. I also know two people who had him to win for a dime each, one at much more than 15-1. Hmm.

Not a conspiracy theorist in the least. Either Vegas....or I need to listen to my gearhead gamblers because they know things.

Brett Moffitt was declared the winner of Sunday’s NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series M&M’s 200 at Iowa Speedway after Ross Chastain’s truck failed post-race inspection.

Chastain swept the opening stages and led 141 laps en route to the checkered flag, but after the celebration in Victory Lane his truck was found to be too low in the front in post-race inspection.

The result handed over the win and the $50,000 Triple Truck Challenge bonus to Moffitt.

“It’s a big change of emotions,” Moffitt said. “Obviously this is not the way I want to win it as a racecar driver. “I still would rather take the checkered and be the first one to it.”

Moffitt did not lead a lap in the race.

“I needed track position, it was really tough to pass,” Moffitt said. “We kept getting stuck on the bottom on restarts and it was tough getting momentum down there.”

NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series Managing Director Brad Moran met with the media after the decision.
“Basically we have a procedure and rules in place, trucks are restricted on their ride heights, the front and the rear of the vehicles,” Moran said. “Unfortunately the 44 was low on the front — extremely low. We have a process of what happens at that point. They do get an opportunity to roll around. They put fuel in the vehicle. They put air the tires.”

Chastain will now earn last-place points for the race and will lose the bonus points he originally scored in the race prior to the post-race penalty. His Niece Motorsports team will appeal the penalty in an expedited process.
