The next step the Isreal and palastine issue will be resolved because of the weaking of terrorist help to the palistns. and US pressure on isreal.
Because irag is centrally located in the mid east we will have bases there likwe have in Germany..Irag has super potential for the iragy people, not just because of oil but because of water...once the infrastructure gets built up those deserts will look like the wheat fields of Nebraska...This type of scenario will travel like wild fire through out the common people of the rest of the mideast...Hell I think that the republican convention in 2012 will be held in Tehran,Iran.

I could see it. I hear the Arab press is finally starting to report the real truth out there. I can practically here Iranians getting ready to revolt for their freedoms too.

Patriot,

That would be great indeed if everyone would just live in peace with eachother without having a superior nation threatening to invade your country and rape it of its natural resources in the name of GOD !

But then again that's all wishfull thinking as long as"BusHitler" is in power !

I do agree with most of your other points.

There are many positive elements here. The Iraqi's are well educated. The literacy rate is very high. This is necessary for any democracy to take hold. And they do have some experience with democracy before Saddam assumed power.

The Kurds in the North have already developed a representative government.

I don't see a serious threat of terrorism post-war. Despite the Bush Admin claims, Iraqi's were not terrorists. They just don't have that philosophy as part of their national character. If the Iraqi’s can be convinced that the U.S. will only stay until the Iraqi’s can take over, they will quickly see the benefits of rebuilding the country (but I see Bush screwing this up, he is just too damn ignorant of these things to pull it off IMO).

As for Israel, that won't change much because of the war IMO. The Iraqi's were not offering much more than moral support to the Palestinians. Again this is in contradiction to Bush’s claims (lies really). Yes Saddam may have paid money to the families of suicide bomber’s, but that is a far cry from offering materials, weapons and other hard support to terrorists. Hamas and Islamic Jihad will not be effected one bit by our Iraqi campaign. They will continue to operate just as before.
