Teddy, there's an easy solution to this matter: Start the boy drinking, have his friends over and feed them booze too. Turn him into an alcoholic, then get him gambling. When he starts losing and becomes like his daddy, you can call him a loser.

i would have to say the kid feels like he is left out, or plays 2nd fiddle to his dad's hobby.
when u have a family...gambling that takes up alot of time can often be seen as your first love and other members of the family feel neglected.
