Shrink, "First you said, "While I doubt we can win by more than 20 points ATS like last time, it would not surprise me if the Lakers covered the spread by more than 10 points!!!"

Then after the game you said, "I HAD MINUS 6 1/2 WITH EVERY BOKMAKER I BET!! ANYWHERE FROM MINUS 1.17 TO MINUS 1.20!!!"

If you thought the Lakers would cover the spread by 10 points, why would you spend all that extra vig to buy it down to -6.5(-117 and -120)? I'm just trying to learn the finer points of betting from a sharp.

The Shark is old school. Molly and I got the tpups at +7.5. Very common number for any Timberwolve backer last night.

If you don't post a pick with a line and a source you sure as hell don't jump up and down about winning and a four year old could dummy up a copy and paste job.

FWIW I think Ken is great guy but he should be eating crow on this one. Yea it was a bad beat at the end but it's is the NBA and that sh*t happens all the time.

10K on an NBA game ?

Shrink is taking a pretty good hit on this one. Something tells me he can stand the heat. The chance remains he did exactly what he said he did.(my vote) Btw, it would not be out of line for a big player to bet $10K on an NBA West Final's game. Next case.

Just to keep the record straight OF was not exactly on the square all time. I had to correct him re. his predictions on more than one occasion. Eg.

Eddington better bred for Preakness distance, stayed out of slop Derby. Rock Hard tough out of ten hole, early speed negated. Both are green, and horses sitting derby usually stink in Preakness. But very different slop Derby may change that up. Eddington today, Rock Hard in Belmont if he shows something today. Might wheel Eddington on top, drop out smarty. Always make best money at Belmont, biggest prices from public bias after first two, but it may show today. Best Wishes...OF

My biggest bet was win and place on Hard one. Guess smarty made me dummy...OF

Another was Tarver-Jones fight when he proped Jones then said he didn't bet after upset win by Tarver. etc.

GH, I always seem to be backing the underdog. If thread had been pro-shrink, might have said, "Shrink you are wrong. You couldn't be more wrong if someone cut off your butt and sewed it on your face."

(Cheers: Frasier's mother-in-law directed the comment at him. Frasier's reply, "That wrong huh?")

Good deflection Wil and I'm well aware of OF's shortcomings however overall he was a great poster.

Bottom line ...

If you're gonna "talk the talk" after the game as we ALL like to do from time to time ... Then "walk the walk" with a LINE and a SOURCE before the game has been played.

It's really no big deal to me. I only listen to Molly anyway, I'm here for laughs not picks.

Only reason Jones took this fight was to prove last fight was a fluke. I think he lost it, but got the decision. Look for Jones not to have to go through rapid weight change, and know what he is facing, to put out a real focused effort. I would pass...OF

Wil, my friend, have several posts, had outside 3. 9-11, I think in the string turning point in Philly. I also said many times I did not beleive in smarty. I lost money, lucky to cash 5 on place. Ended up with Eddington to win, a horrible 10-1, 11 at 70-1 and Rock at track win and place. Are you OK with that? OF

Always good to have selective memory. He is entertaining and makes me laugh. Need outsider at Pimlico. 9-11. Philly could steal this series. Not saying Bolts are not better, but bad matchup. Gary Stevens...8-1 hmmmm OF

Wil, my good friend, character assissination is not your forte...and did you forget...

OF - fwiw I appreciate you posting your opinions. Problem is if you are going to prop one horse or team and bet another it really is not very helpful to Rx. posters who follow your picks/plays. For example it clearly looked like you were betting Eddington, but you claim your big bet was on RHT. See what I mean? Anyway, not here to bash anyone. Best of luck.

And my repsonse... posted May 15, 2004 07:03 PM
You are absolutely correct my friend. That was very inconsiderate of me. I was sort of capping aloud on that post. Finalized with outside 3. Was not my intent to mislead anyone, or pick multiple spots. Did very well at Pimlico, for the day. From now on I will be more careful and say, this is what I am thinking, and after I bet, will say this is what I got. Is that good? OF

All we have left is friendship, would prefer an enemy to you...
