We're not trying to compete with DonBest or GJ -- they have more resources, more time & a longer shelved product. I do appreciate being mentioned with the top two services in the world, but by no means are we trying "compete".

What we are trying to do is to offer a free service that will help bring non-professionals and books together. It offers the players a quick means to shops at a dozen books, and it gives the books exposure to 700 or so dedicated users.

It's perfect for people that understand the importance of shopping and the need for multiple outs, but that do not want to or can not afford to drop hundreds of dollars for all the features that a commercial service offers (injuries, stats, archives, etc..).

Our product is fast -- an average of 25 second delays (after a refresh, of course), so it is very useful in that sense.

I have talked with Ken about the possibility of adding several more books and that's an avenue that we're going to start taking -- possibly even some non-RX books ;)

I'm flattered to be mentioned with the like of DB and others, but the bottom line is they cater to pros and we cater to sharp guys with gambling hobby.

Don't kid yourself Lander, your service is very valuable and caters to a lot of people. Like I said, I put our service against yours just to see the quality of your lines and they were at most 1min behind ours, and most times 1/2 that. I did have a suggestion for you if you ever read it. One feature our customers like about our service is the ability to see all the sports on one screen, as well as breaking them up individually. Have you thought about putting an 'All Sports' link on the service?

Also:

Remember when that person was having a problem with the refresh? Have you thought more about turning it into a java refresh? That way it should jump down to where the person was looking when it refreshed.

And one more question that I am curious about... If I messed with the link in the address bar and changed the refresh variable to, say 10, would it start refreshing every 10 seconds?

First off, thanks for the compliments. The all sports is an interesting thought -- nobody has ever asked for that feature, but it's something that we could add if the posters wanted such.

No, I'm not sure if you saw my reply, but the problem was that I had originally used the javascripting solution, but a few of our posters use WebTV and this was incompatible.

It's a tough call here -- on one hand I hate to alienate a few loyal users, on the other we certainly do not want to punish the others.

Ah, what a philosophical nerd dilemma .. lol.

No, you can type in what ever you want, but unless it's 0, 30,45,60,90 then it gets set to 60 seconds.

C'mmon now ... there's a little QA involved here ... lol
