Pista hacia Santa Ana. Motorcycle wanted to make a u-turn, stoppped in highway, dad was going 140 kmh, wet road, lost control of the car. Flipped several times.

Well with these streets, flipping several times and at that speed and if your dad is fine, the car really made it's thing.

What a shame man, I really feel it, as if the car was mine..

How's ur dad?

these streets aren't made for a car of that level...

cierto mae lo mas seguro es que el palyazo jalo mamado, pero igual como dice bruce responsabilidad o rato alguien lo vio y lo paro o algo asi, mae jack for real dont mean to be nosey why no insurance makes no sense for me, you have enough $$ to buy that car or at least lease it one would think you could afford the insurance

2) there is a reason why our the limit is set at 90 /100 kph in most cases......its not like a) youdon't have a lot of space to do something if you need to stop b) most roads have curves c) we drive like crazy d) etc

lesson: no point in going at 140 kph when you face the possibility of finding a big pothole, a taxi, a motorcycle, a kid/person/dog crossing the street and then you can't stop

Was I the only one that read that he was doing 140kph, and no insurance? He's lucky he didn't kill the biker, even if the guy stops in the middle of the highway if you're not tailgaiting 50 kph over the speed limit you shouldn't flip like that, at the most maybe hit the brakes and swerve a little. It's callded "guardar la distancia", anybody ever hear of that?

even 'guardando la distancia' you cant go from 100 (which could very well be the speed limit there) to 0 when you encounter something that is standing still on the middle of the road

the biker is lucky he didnt cause someone to die and I guess if "I" would be the one on the car I would probably wonder "do I avoid him and not kill him while risking ME being killed? or do I hit him and trust my car to protect me"

as we have discussed here before, motorcycle drivers in particular have a death wish

speaking of which , did anyone hear about the new requirement for the drivers license? a psycological test similar to the one used to carry a gun

I wonder who is going to drive the buses and taxis

No insurance for several reasons. Insurance is outrageously expensive here. Even if the car is listed at $100k here, its worth a lot more. The insurance for a $100k car would probably be like $12k a year, just guessing here, but I think that´s about right. This is not a car that´s driven daily. I has very few miles on it which means its not used that much. So the odds of something like this happening were slim. Most people who own exotic cars here in CR don´t insure them.

Also, driving a high performance car, 140kph in a Ferrari is nothing. 140kph in a Ferrari is a lot safer than 70kph in your average car. These are high performance machines; braking, handling and suspension are just unreal.

The reason my dad lost control of the car was because of oil in the road. When rainy season starts, all that fuel, oil and junk on the road that accumulates during the dry season, washes off and makes roads incredibly slippery.

And yes, the guy driving the motorcycle stayed. No there will be no legal implications for him.

In summary it is NOT a good idea to drive at 140 kph regardless of it being a Ferrari, a Hyundia or a 1980 Skoda. Aside from driver factors (reflexes/experience/sight etc) it doesn't matter as our roads are simply not meant to be driven at 140 kph (or 100 and some not even at 10 kph)

Well the pictures sure fooled me!

I'm sorry if this is offensive but i think people that drive like that are morons and put many lives in danger.

My whole thing is this : Damn! At least he was lucky enough to have the privilege of driving such an awesome machine. And on top of that he's OK? After an accident like that?! You can't beat that action! The car is just material.

Like EAZY- E said. "Throw it in the gutter, and go buy another"
