My best day at the track last week, followed by the worst by a mile

Last week I was hitting everything.

This time I go. I've lost every race before, but never like this.

I showed up late and only caught 6 races. I bet 3 of them to win. 2 of the horses lost by a photo finish. The other stumbled at the start of a short race and was out.

The other 3 I bet a trifecta. Two of those, I had the first two horses pegged with my 3rd horse getting 4th by the tiniest of margins ever. The other one I hit the first two as well but my 3rd horse finished 5th, about half a length behind 3rd.

It's much better to have your horse crap the bed than to come so close to HUGE payouts and then have to wait a few minutes for the photo finish stuff to come back, with absolutely everything going against you.

Grr. Figured I'd share and let off some steam.

I disagree. I would rather want a chance at winning then throwing my ticket away quickly. Eventually, you'll get one.

Do tell. I'm clueless in horse wagering but I can catch on... and just got to see a story where someone didn't pay extra $19 to win 29K... I could do a search but wouldn't know what keyword to look for...
