Zone nice job on starting a very interesting thread. I have been a Brian Kelly fan since his CMU days, and he has won me some money over the past several years. I think it comes down to as you said MOTIVATION. I look at Objection's comment above, and note that Cincy was up 30-3 in that game, allowed a late touchdown for a back door cover, a convincing win by 20 over Syracuse, but a non-cover nevertheless. I do believe that Cincy will win this game for the reasons set forth by Go Sooners and others; however, it is entirely possible that Hawaii will cover, and thus I am a pass on this game. I wish you good luck on your wager.

and what are the names of these so called "BOOKS IN HAWAII" that have reported this? To my knowledge there are no casinos or indian reservations in Hawaii(although there should be as Hawaiians are actually native americans whose land were taken from them!),so your statement is absolutely ludacris and very misleading. Good luck with your pick

im sure these people would be stoked if they were named here in the forum. either you have never heard of a local book or you're a cop.

Thank you sir for you for you valuable insight, however if everyone in Hawaii is pounding cincy then why has the line already dropped to 7 at most sites? Are the these Hawaii people betting coconuts and taro? Seems like smart money is coming in on the team in green, while the public money is coming in on the "BCS" bowl bound team. Good luck with your pick. :103631605

they drop the line to make hawaii look stronger and suck more $$$ out of you. not to mention hawaii has had a decent showing the past couple weeks. but just think about this for a minute. hawaii beat piss poor washington st at home last week 24-10. UCLA went on the road to washington st and won 27-7. now do you think cincy would roll up the bruins by more than 7? i'd say more like 20. same goes for hawaii. but gl

And Uconn needed overtime to barely pull out a win against the TEMPLE OWLS(hoot hoot!), then later blew the hell out of cincy 40-16, so are you saying that temple would smoke cincy.--------your argument can be stretched in a million different ways a million different days. Ya gotta come with something a little stronger than all this hypothetical "team "A" beat team "B" so team "B" should get blown by team "C" kinda stuff. Have you even watched Hawaii play this year? Well I've seen every Hawaii game with the exception of the LA. Tech game, as well as every weeknight game that cincy played in including the Pitt, WV, and parts of the Uconn game(I shut it off after Uconn's 3rd td). And as far as the WASU game goes----did you watch it?----Hawaii had its 2 biggest playmakers(pilares and mouton) on both sides of the ball sitting out to rest up for this upcoming game. What that points to is the lack of urgency Hawaii coaches had with trying to blow out WASU. Hawaii also left a ton of points on the field---driving deep in WASU territory only to come away with 3 failed chip shot FG's(in fairness to the kicker the weather was pretty nasty much of the game). The Hawaii coaching staff had pulled the plug on any effort to run the score up as early in the 4th qtr. when they had a good amount of 2nd teamers playing, and decided to try and kill clock eventhough they were only 2 TD's ahead. ----------------And as for your brilliant "conspiracy theory" about All of these many sportbooks in cahoots with each other to all of a sudden simultaneously decide to move a line in the opposite direction(dropping from cincy -8 to cincy -7) all to try and use reverse psychology hoping that Hawaii Bettors will be overjoyed with losing a whole point on the line and slam it even harder.........? Huh? If that's your theory then lemme know when you wanna buy a house, What I'll do is raise the price by about 50G more than the asking price so you'll want to buy it even more-Hell I'll even tell you that a child molester lives next door, and the refridgerator is broken to seal the deal, right?-------absolutely ridiculous, but good luck with your pick. :103631605

you want to talk about ridiculous? c'mon , the last 2 sentences show your critical thinking ability. did i see the hawaii games this year? in fact yes, i even attended 3 of them. are they better than they were to start the year? by leap and bounds. are they good enough to defeat the big east champ (not that it is much to brag about)? probably not. you said it best, they left points on the field. thats what they have done all season long. your argument about cincy not being focused is hardly compelling as im sure if that logic is true, then hawaii will not be focused either as they have already accepted an invite to the hawaii bowl. also genius have you ever heard of injuries? thats what pilares and mouton have. maybe thats why that sat out? you think that with only one victory away from a guaranteed hawaii bowl birth and cincy next they would sit these guys if they were healthy? now who's logic is ridiculous? by the way, if i do buy that house, i hope i get that extra 50k from and easy cincy win, that you move out from next door and i buy a new refrigerator upon arrival.

Mr. taino: I will respectfully agree to disagree with you, and I'm sure everyone in this thread was very enlightened by your invaluable insight. However, I'll will not entertain an immature shouting match. So I thank you for this dialogue, and Good Luck with your pick. :103631605 P.S. if you listened to HC McMackins "call the coach" show on monday night on 1420am.com-you would have heard McMackin state that although both players were nursing foot and knee injuries, both could have played had they thought they were going to be needed against WASU.

who's shouting? nice of you claim immaturity after that piss poor analogy you made. i fully understand that you are on hawaii, and i'm not here to sway or argue with you, just to add some information. i can see that you are just as sarcastic and passionate about your picks as i am, and maybe one day we will be on the same team so we can pound on others instead of one another. until that day comes, good luck to you sir

I have seen every game Hawaii has played this year, they are getting better as the year has gone on, but I dont think they will even keep it close at this game. Everyone I know here is betting Cincy so... I will be at the game, I will see where I am at before the game, so whomever you are gonna bet GOOD LUCK!!!

LB Elimimian, LB Leonard, DB Mouton. Also FYI at "call the coach" this week coach mac said he's planning to air it out against cincy. The over might be worth a look also.

Slight correction here daboyzinblue: actually DE David Veikune is probably the best NFL prospect on this defense. Elimimian and Mouton are also prospects, but I think LB Adam Leonard may get overlooked because of his size: 5'11 225.-----but when he's fully healthy he's a very quick instinctive player.

Thanks Diz-----

The Zone,

Good Luck with your play. I was leaning Hawaii myself, VERY close too making it a play, but I couldn't do it. I will cheer you on.

Randy
If there had to be one guy in my corner on this one, I'm glad it's you. Good Luck w/your picks today, and I see your hitting pretty well on the college bball as well. :103631605

Didn't think we'd have to sweat it out that bad, but still a W.
shouldn't have been this close, but turnovers were key tonight. Pilares was out-not expected, and that changed the whole complexion of the game, as far as Hawaii's offense stood.

you tossed a coin and got lucky. If cin. kicked the fg the story would have been different.

Tossed a coin? Hawaii was up by 14 in the fourth-had they not done everything to giftwrap that game for cincy, they would've come out the victor.-----get over yourself for being on the wrong side of your bet. GL next time :103631605
