When some negative actions are committed overwhelmingly (let's day in at least 80%) in a smaller area or world-wide by some group of people (be it making them a "group" the religious belief, the skin-color or economical reasons) what an intelligent and well informed person's attitude should be towards that group?

Yes, I will give you details.

Growing up locally, a Muslim & his brother bought & owned a popular small grocery store.

Everything was cool as the years went by, but little by little they began getting into debates with customers & locals about how we deserved 911 and they defend everything inhumane their people do.

Actually, since I work with local govt. & close to police dept., I found out that they were actually under surveillance for some time for other suspicions.

Next story...

My current wife, who is Mexican, has a sister who is married to a Muslim.

He has defended some of their horrible actions on many occasions.

My wife & the rest of her family, who are Hispanic, don't even associate with that sister anymore because of him.

Next story..

I have friends I have 'gamed' with online (video games) for a few years.

If you don't understand the gaming part, we play online with each other, same team against others, and talk to each other through our headsets.
You can actually get to know these people very well.

Well, a few weeks ago, some of the guys starting talking about the stuff going on & made a comment about Muslims in general, while another guy agreed, one of our 'friends' speaks up and asks "You guys don't have a problem with Muslims do you?"

The other guys respond "Hell Yeah!"

We didn't even know, but he then reveals that he is Muslim.

Conversation goes on, and he makes comments defending some of their ridiculous beliefs & even some of the terrorist acts saying they were warranted!

Also, living in Central Florida, I can tell you that one of the terrorists of 911 was a 'normal neighbor' who was 'just another guy' & his kids played with neighbors kids in this neighborhood.

Moral of the story that unfortunately, the ones who aren't nuts can't be trusted either because of the ones who are..
Thanks. My experiences certainly differ. Any Muslims I've known fairly well were disgusted and repulsed by 911, and terror actions.

The only scenario where it could possibly change is personal familiarity. People are far scarier when all all one sees about them is media reports.

Yes it has a lot to do with the media, funny they can see the bias against Trump but not see the fear mongering.

There was another thread here talking about how you're more likely to get bit by shark than get shot by a cop or something a couple days ago. Mention that more people were killed by police than muslims in this country last year, and people will lose their shit. Billions of muslims in the world, and that's the best they can do? It's fear mongering, and it's nothing new. There was fear mongering about Italians when they came, that they were all mafia. Also with the Jews about them taking over our banks, OP knows about that one. People are afraid of things that are different, it makes them uneasy, it will always be that way. I have had plenty of interactions with muslims. Served with two Muslims in the Marines too. I've even discussed politics and religion with them. None of them tried to kill me.

And personal experiences are really just anecdotal. Numbers show there are over a billions muslims, 3.3 million in the USA, if they're out to kill us, math tell me they are doing a horrible job. Canada has a lot per capita too.

i know a lot of Christians that love to speak hate towards gays and blacks...they make jokes about gays and blacks being murdered and think they deserve it. But I know all Christians aren't bigots...there are assholes from every race and religion. Some even post here.

In spite of all the disgusting Anti Semitic and Anti Muslim hatred by the Idiot Drumpf and far, far too many of his sheep, certainly here at the RX, it's stories like this, and my own experiences in my very diverse neighborhood, that give me hope that eventually, the good guys will win.

Jews Share Synagogue With Muslims After Fire Destroys Texas Mosque
'Jewish community members walked into my home and gave me a key to the synagogue,' said Shahid Hashmi, a surgeon and one of the founders of the mosque.

In the small Gulf Coast city of Victoria, Texas, there are several churches, but just one synagogue, and one mosque – at least, until the mosque mysteriously burned down on Saturday, according to the New York Times.
Now, in a sense, the synagogue has become a mosque: the Jews of Victoria handed the Muslims the key to the building so they would have a place to worship while rebuilding.
“Everyone knows everybody, I know several members of the mosque, and we felt for them,” said Robert Loeb, the president of Bnai Israel, which affiliates with the Reform Movement.
On Sunday, the Victoria community held an interfaith event in front of the mosque. Through local donations and a GoFundMe page, the mosque raised over $900,000 in the span of one day to rebuild the mosque. The Anti-Defamation League’s southwestern arm also attended the event.
The causes of the fire are unknown, according to the New York Times.
“Jewish community members walked into my home and gave me a key to the synagogue,” Shahid Hashmi, a surgeon and one of the founders of the mosque, built in 2000, told the Times. He could not be reached for comment.
Religious leaders in the town of about 65,000 have done other interfaith work, including a three-week event a few years ago during which the synagogue, mosque and a church hosted each other’s members.
“This is sad for everyone in the community and as Jews we especially have to feel for the Muslim community. When a calamity like this happens, we have to stand together,” Loeb said.
Also, Loeb added, sharing the space just made sense: “We have probably 25 to 30 Jewish people in Victoria, and they probably have 100 Muslims. We got a lot of building for a small amount of Jews.”

Not sure its "pro muslim" to say the dude had mental health issues. How many times have we seen white americans go shoot up schools and
movie theaters and soon after be declared mentally ill? It almost seem like thats the thing to say.
