Yet you still made reference to it, I will take that as a compliment. I still did not see where sampling other peoples melodies, or babbling on about bling and bitches were mentioned in any of these definitions. Please feel free to "throw your hands in the air" or "raise the roof" or whatever it is you wannabe thugs do.

P.S. Please dont bust a cap in my ass whitebread.

Honestly, what do you listen to NES?

PS - If a mod cares enough and can do it, move all this babble from the myspacers thread over here if you could.

Good stuff there. I listen to that stuff, plus hip hop, even country and punk. I just don't understand people like you that obviously can't understand the overall purpose of music who are so devisive on the subject I guess.

I guess Im just one of those guys that would rather push a Chevy than drive a Ford. I just cant relate to all that "grab the money and smack a ho" shit that is the driving force behind Hip Hop these days. Its just a bunch of pretentious bullshit IMO, there is a lot more to life than gold I guess I am just more of a "Simple Man".

I hate most of the mainstream rap because most of it says the exact same thing but there is still some good stuff out there.

Kanye West
Nas
Sage Francis

Flipsyde

IMO every artist listed above actually talks about important things and doesn't fall into the stereotype you mentioned. I'll agree with you that alot of mainstream rap is crap lately but there is some good stuff out there too. Not every rap fan thinks 50 Cent and Soulja Boy are the best of the best.

I was very impressed with the content of "Where is the Love" by the Black Eye Peas.

Rage Against the Machine is the closest thing to rap that I could sit down and listen to for an extended period of time without vomiting, but Im guessing since they knew how to play their instruments that they dont actually qualify as a "rap group".

Rage qualifies themselves as Hip Hop, that's why they co-headline the Rock the Bells tour with Wu-Tang Clan. Listen to jake, he seems to know his shit. Rap on TV and the radio is absolute shit, that's why Nas came out with Hip Hop is Dead. Nas might be the greatest, but people like you wouldn't know it because he doesn't come up with dance gimmicks and shit like that.

That's one of my favorite songs of all-time... even though my friends gave me a ton of crap for liking a song with Justin Timberlake in it.

Rage is very political and made great music as well but it doesn't fall into the rap genre IMO. Rap/rock maybe, but not pure rap.

Because you know how "people like me" are on the lookout for dance gimmicks and shit like that.

NES, I don't know if you'll ever be a convert but here are some song recommendations out there that might be more your style.

Sage Francis - Makeshift Patriot
Kanye West - Hey Mama
Kanye West - Roses
Nas - Bridging the Gap
Classified - No Mistakes
Classified - Fall From Paradise
Swollen Members - Deep End
Sweatshop Union - Radio Edit
Flipsyde - Angel
Flipsyde - Train

That Sweatshop Union song is all about what you hate about the industry by the way... talking about how people are just trying to do what's popular and pushing their values aside just to get on the radio.

People like you don't look for good rap or hip hop, you only know what's spoon fed to you.

Good point, as you can see by my list I was spoonfed a bunch of bullshit music, I will somehow learn to live with myself.

You are a fucking idiot. I'm talking about hip hop and you're just looking for a reason to be offended. Stop being such a bitch.
