Well, try all you want. This war is perfectly legal on the congressional side. Both Democrats and Republicans voted for it. Nevertheless, try all you want.

Genocide in Iraq? Come on, the most amount of people killed in that war were soldiers who were firing on our troops.

Alex,
www.votetoimpeach.org claims the following reasons why impeachment is necessary.

http://www.votetoimpeach.org/notes_5.htm

Draft Articles of Impeachment of President George W. Bush and other named officials of the United States charge the most serious crimes known to law and history. Nothing in the experience of the impeachment power under the Constitution compares. The conduct charged threatens the Constitution, the United Nations, the rule of law and the lives of unknown thousands, or millions of people by their act and example.

The alleged impeachable acts of President George W. Bush include:

1. Ordering and directing "first strike" war of aggression against Afghanistan causing thousands of deaths;

2. Removing the government of Afghanistan by force and installing a government of his choice;

3. Authorizing daily intrusions into Iraqi airspace and aerial attacks including attacks on alleged defense installations in Iraq which have killed hundreds of people in time of peace;

4. Authorizing, ordering and condoning attacks in Afghanistan and Iraq on civilians, civilian facilities and locations where civilian casualties are unavoidable;

5. Threatening the use of nuclear weapons and ordering preparation for their use;

6. Threatening the independence and sovereignty of Iraq by belligerently proclaiming his personal intention to change its government by force;

7. Authorizing, ordering and condoning assassinations, summary executions, murder, kidnappings, secret and other illegal detentions of individuals, torture and physical and psychological coercion of prisoners;

8. Authorizing, ordering and condoning violations of rights of individuals under the First, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth and Eight Amendments to the Constitution and of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and other international protections of human rights;

9. Authorizing, directing and condoning bribery and coercion of individuals and governments to obtain his war ends;

10. Making, ordering and condoning false statements and propaganda and concealing information vital to public discussion and informed judgment to create a climate of fear and hatred and destroy opposition to his war goals.

President Bush is accused of Crimes Against Peace, War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity. No crimes are greater threats to the Constitution of the United States, the United Nation Charter, the rule of law or the future of humanity.

I dont care about the war! This idiot lies all the time!
lies, lies, lies, ...

and the war and the lowly swill just can't take it. The senate voted for Bush to have the power to use force, however, the swill that has taken over the democratic party continues to make fools of themselves. I can't wait till the next elections.

Have you ever heard of the silent majority.

Do you really think many of the people at the hate america rallies have jobs?

Do you remember how many left wing liberals lost their Senate seats in the last election? And trust me the way the left wingers are acting during a time of war the republican turn out is going to be huge. Kinda works like that.

Lander, you posted this below. Which, if any, of these 10 points do you personally agree with?

I love these kind of movements - go for it! Not that it has a snowball's chance in hell of succeeding, but it is one of the (and I truly mean this) funniest things I have ever read in my lifetime - and I read a lot. It's the kind of topic I won't even bother debating, since it once again goes over the same ground we've all covered here before. However, seriously pursuing this is not only harmless but will serve to waste the energies of those involved - it is not even close to being a serious movement - which is not a bad thing, IMHO.

I'm not necessarily saying I agree with this particular movement, rather I'm just being "objective" and putting the "facts" forward like Frank.

Never a supporter of him to start with, but I felt that Bush negated the validity of his administration when he petitioned Congress last year for the right to pre-emptively strike any country that he perceives a threat now or in the future without further redress or authorisation from congress neccessary.

The philosophy of the pre-emtpive strike is questionable enough; to turn around and actually ask for expanded powers to strike at the first sign that a country might become a threat in the future is ludicrous. Like the assorted nonsensical *warning signs* of terrorissm in USA-PATRIOT and it's follow-up bill being bandied about in Congress now, Bush's peteition suggests that his administration wants the widest possible latitude to strike the largest number of targets with no domestic consequences -- which demonstrates that he is not fit to lead, only to rule. And there is a major difference between the two.

would be very difficult to impeach a president with a 70% approval rating....lmao.......give it a few more weeks

Spincter,
Does a 70% "approval" rating determine that a President has not acted unconstitutionally?
