BOS was the worst, mostly because of all of the shops they had bought out right before they went down.. I had very little in BOS.. But Millenium, V Wager, MVP, and a couple of others is where I got hurt...I had $$$ in Aces Gold , but don't count that so much as a stiff since we all were offered a very good bailout at the time.. Aces was very poorly run and you would to have not been paying attention to not have made great money there with there foolish lines...They didn't fuck anyone, they fucked themselves..

Never played with BOS but they advertised a ton on the radio here back in mid 00s. I remember they even had someone who worked for the book talk to the hosts and be like "BOSTON IF YOU WANNA BACK AND SUPPORT THE SOX TONIGHT THE LINE JUST MOVED DOWN TO -130" circa the Sox/Yanks '03-04 cold war. Was pretty funny...

The BOS family was so big, they used to advertise on the Stern show. I remember BabaBooey talking about having an account and betting there, I think at Millennium. Books were advertising like crazy on all the sports stations. Those were the days, when I had hope that this industry would grow and be as normal and successful as it is in other civilized Countries in Europe and Australia. But our stupid Gov't and that idiot Frist, one of the most evil and underhanded Pols ever, had to ruin things.

I luckily dodged Aces Gold, but I don't remember any bailout offers at the time. Who bailed out their players?

You would be lucky to be playing at Aces imo....no way you couldn't make money there...Cascade, Royal, and another shop bailed out the players... Thought the bailout was very fair... Cascade was one of the top tier shops around at the time..

that seems like a short list. If that's all there was, I might suggest it's not has bad as the perception many of us seem to have

David Carruthers who was with Betonsports

I can't believe that happened in 2006, doesn't seem like 8 freakn years

Yeah, Aces Gold was giving money away with their "3" Policy. I hope you got your money out of Cascade if they bailed you out, before they went belly up. Royal is another that was dodgy.

Cascade was a great shop for years before things went downhill. Played there along time ... Got out when book took a turn a few years later... Still look at Cascade favorably.. Royal, like Aces stuck some bad #'s on the board.. I kept taking withdrawls there too until I finally ran out of money.. Probably can say one of my top 5 shops ever...

Have you checked out the review site on dportsbooks, BetOnSports always had like a "D" back then lots of books had bad ratings........

I wish Pinnacle still catered to USA citizens, best book ever IMO........

pinny was the best by far..will never forget them closing up shop the us players right after the NCAA title game. That's how I found there and I assume I'm not the only one. I got every penny back from them in a timely fashion. Truly standup in every way

They actually closed their shop to US Players in Jan 2007, and refunded every penny. They were so honorable, that they kept a Political Future I had made, that wasn't payable until after the Democratic convention in 2008, and paid me when it was a winner.

I had a pretty big balance with ESB back in the day. Luckily, i never had problems with payouts and when they started having problem (moved to Ireland, etc), i had little to no $$ left. Back when the problems were going on w/ esb, i did a google search and thats how i was introduced to the the rx.

Reading this thread reminded me that i was stiffed by cascade and i also had an account w/ virtual bookmaker (bos family) and remember receiving a check when they paid something like 4 cents on the dollar. Never cashed the check (wasnt much)

I remember when WSEX was supposed to be the future of on line poker. How did they stiff everyone? I was out of the poker look by black Friday.

RKR Sports (aka Bob Rushton) circa 1996.

First book I ever played at, but managed to just miss losing funds when he vanished.

Oddsmaker is FutureBet's biggest licensee. Futurebet has rebranded itself as Gametech Solutions, after previously calling itself iGaming Software. The scam software provider has stiffed players and sportsbook operators out of millions of dollars

If the US government would get their head of their a**, & legalize sports betting, we wouldn't have the problems with shady online sites the pop up for a quick buck & then dissapear. Some have been around for years & disappear. ......that's why you stick with the proven names like Pinnacle, Bookmaker/Cris & a few others.
