Newly declassified text messages from Peter Strzok show the FBI was investigating Trump before Crossfire Hurricane was ever opened. On July 28, 2016, Strzok told Lisa Page there were multiple open investigations about Trump/Russia. Crossfire Hurricane wasn’t opened until July 31.

Because he was corrupt.It was not simply the United States that wanted his removal but also the European Union. The fact that Hunter Biden was on the board of Burisma was no secret. Burisma announced his adding to the board in, i believe, 2014. This was no secret, as some may lead you to believe now.

It was believed that Shokin was helping the political elites from prosecution while hindering the prosecution of companies believed to have criminal activity(such as Burisma) in order to obtain brides.

Also of note. The criminal activity being investigate in regards to Burisma had to do with with all activity before Hunter's addition.

Ron Johnson, along with I believe 3 or 4 other GOP senators, along with, i forget, how many dem senators, signed a letter asking/demanding of Shokin's removal.

The 1 billion(or whatever the amount was) gave the United States the leverage of getting Shokin removed.

There is more to it, but this was awhile ago and i don't remember every fact and specific and don't feel like looking it all back up.
