Very big game up here in Canada, first time Canadian team has ever gotten this far in the Concacaf Champions League.

Game is being played at the Big "O" (or "Owe", whichever you prefer @)) on artificial turf, something Santos is definitely not used to. Playing on grass and Artificial turf is alot different, as the ball tends to have more hop on astro turf.

Line was a pk when I checked (now it's off the board at pinny). At first I wanted to take Santos, but the more I think about it with the astro turf, I don't know. And they sold over 50,000 tickets in Montreal for this game.

Any thoughts?

Just to add..

I remember England had a tough time playing in Russia during Euro 2008 qualifiers.. and that was played on artificial turf I believe.

CBC could at least put the damn game on live, instead of playing it 2-5 hours after it has already been completed.

Hmmm, I already went for Socio Aguila before you wrote this, not knowing about the artificial grass. I also found out after I placed my bet that Montreal is pretty solid at home while Aguila is NOT on the road. Well it's part of a parlay anyways, so it's not a big deal.

1-0 Montreal...

Neither team likes the artificial turf.

The place is rocking... never seen so many fans at a soccer game in North America

Thanks for the atdhe link.

I still can't imagine how the worst ranked Canadian team has made it so far. Montreal were really given a boost with the 50,000+ fans... now they just have to find a way to sit on this lead in the second leg.

Watching this game for the second time (nothing else on at midnight), I am quite convinced that the Mexican side will really take it to Montreal when they get to their home field. Montreal really got the benefit of almost all the referee's decisions, and it can be argued that the second goal was a result of a big bounce off the turf. SL really had a hard time controlling the ball, but they have some weapons, who could have big games on the second leg.
