Sunday's race at the 10-turn, 1.99-mile road course features an elevation change and narrow straightaways, making it a difficult task to master. Sonoma is the more technical of the two road-course tracks on the schedule. Watkins Glen is a much faster track, which is easier to navigate.

Sonoma is one of two road courses on the schedule. With such different racing, it brings about a good possibility of a first-time winner this weekend. However, several of the same suspects have had success here in the past several years. Harvick is the defending winner from last season and Ky. Busch, Truex Jr., and Bowyer have all won in the fairly recent future.

Back with picks on Sunday, or perhaps Saturday night depending on what the oddsmakers post and when they post.

Ugh. I hope everyone missed this disaster of a race. Expected way more out of Kyle today and really thought Larson had figured out the problems that plagued him here in 2017. However, they did not. Kes, never looked good. In fact, anyone who went after Stage 1 points basically never recovered their track position.

Will update record later today. And then we move onward to Chicago, which is a track I have had good success with in the past.
