Here’s our picks for the day. Suffered a tough loss last night with ISU getting screwed over by the officials. Hoping things bounce back in our favor today. Good luck.
Cleveland Cavaliers +7 against the Chicago Bulls
Da Bulls just aren’t a good offense without Rose on the court. They were pitiful against OKC the other night, and in our opinion the Cavs are starting to build some confidence in themselves (they damn near beat Miami recently which is a far better team at this point than Chicago). Chicago always has a stout defense and they are at home for this one which is the main reason they are 7 point favorites, but because of their lack of offensive firepower we like taking the Cavs and the points on this one. Plus Carlos Boozer and Nate Robinson took a ton of shots against OKC. Carlos Boozer and Nate Robinson… really? Even without Rose they should be running their offense through Deng and Hamilton. The problem is those guys just haven’t been able to produce lately either. The Bulls anemic offense is the reason we’re taking the Cavs and the points.
Indiana Pacers -8 against Golden State Warriors
Golden State is in the midst of a nice little win streak (3 games) including a tough win against the SA Spurs. However, they are on the road this time in a tough environment and will be without Andrew Bogut. The Warriors have lost 11 of their last 12 against Indiana. The Pacers have a lineup that will be hard for the Warriors to compete against without Bogut at center. The Warriors last couple wins have been against teams that don’t necessarily have a dominant big man like the Pacers do in Roy Hibbert. So in our opinion losing Bogut didn’t effect them as much as we believe it will in this game. Being on the road against a stifling Indiana defense will be too much to overcome. We’re taking Indiana here.
Indiana Hoosiers -5 against Minnesota Golden Gophers
This is our play of the day. Minnesota has been playing absolutely horrendous in there last several games. They are playing like a team who has given up on eachother, and on their coach Tubby Smith. Unfortunately for them they are playing an Indiana team that is fully capable of dismantling them. We don’t expect this one to stay close. Take Indiana and hope that Minnesota decides to not show up for their third game in a row.
